C Darby McCarthy became one of Australia's best jockeys in the 1950s & 60s hailing from Cunamula, Queensland. Darby raced frequently in Brisbane, including the Stradbroke, Brisbane Cup and Domben 10,000 before moving to further his career in Sydney. But before too long he went on to race in Europe, including at Royal Ascot and in Paris.
In 2004 Darby was inducted in the Queensland Racing Hall of Fame. Today Darby resides in Toowoomba, surounded by his family and friends.
