RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT BARCALDINE RACING CLUB – SATURDAY 29th OCTOBER , 2016 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (3) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. McCrackenClerk of Scales – G. ScottJudge – B. Mutton/G. RafterVeterinarian - D. McKenzie Starter- M. Cullen Race 1: ARTESIAN HOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP - 1000 metres ONE UP – Reared as the gates opened losing considerable ground. SABOTEUR – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages with cover. BROOKLYN BOY – Travelled wide for the majority with no cover. Race 2: WALSH ACCOUNTING OPEN HANDICAP - 1000 metres FOUR IRON – Slow to begin and slow into stride. CRYSTAL MATES – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages. Race 3: ROONEY’S STOCKCAMP SADDLERY MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres PUBLIC FORTUNE – Travelled wide with no cover. SHE’S IN TOP GEAR – Jumped away awkwardly nearly dislodging the rider. Race 4: SANDGOANNAS OLD BOYS DOUG GESCH MEMORIAL QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE - 1200 metres SPURSYN – The gate bounced back on opening causing the gelding to jump away awkwardly and slowly.SEE YOU SATURDAY – Tightened for room at the 800m when outside runners shifted ground. WISCONSIN – Eased at the 70m when an outside runner shifted ground and proved difficult to ride out. Returning to scale R. Hancock the jockey on third placed horse WISCONSIN lodged a protest against the first place horse ROYAL FROLIC ridden by G. Watson for alleged interference over the concluding stages. There was a lengthy delay to correct weight as evidence was taken and patrol footage reviewed. The protest was dismissed and correct weight was given. ROYAL FROLIC - Travelled wide in the early and middle stages then lay in under pressure over the concluding stages, causing inside runners to take hold. Jockey Watson was reprimanded and reminded of his obligation to keep his mount straight. MAKE AMENDS – Hampered over the concluding stages as runners inside and out shifted ground causing the mare to run out of racing room. WAYS AND MEANS – Jumped away awkwardly and outwards, then shifted out over the concluding stages causing outside runners to take hold. Jockey S. Palmer was reprimanded and reminded of his obligation to keep his mount straight. Race 5: BARCY SPARKY BM 55 HANDICAP - 1600 metres CHOCOLATE BOLT – Travelled wide for the majority. NORTHERN MAGIC – Jockey S. Palmer lost an iron approaching the 800m and took no further competitive part in the race.
