Cullen Race 1:BARCALDINE TYRE CENTRE MAIDEN PLATE 1000 METRES HOT ROD JACK – slow into stride. BRENT STREET – had to steady off heels near the 850 metres and raced wide for the majority. Rider reported that that despite trying to ride his mount out from the 600 metres it failed to respond, and he thought it was very disappointing. RUNINSCARED – very slow into stride and rider lost the whip leaving the 100 metres. RUBY DIAMOND – jumped out abruptly at the start. Race 2:BARCALDINE COUNTRY MOTOER INN BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000 metres ROGUE STAR – began awkwardly. ASBURY PARK – began awkwardly and raced wide throughout. BI TURBO – raced 3 wide throughout. ICE ICE BABY – jumped in at the start and bumped MORICONI as a result was slow into stride and failed to show any speed throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Patrick O’Toole was advised ICE ICE BABY must pass a barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards before racing again. Trainer O’Toole advised he would be recommending to the owners to retire ICE ICE BABY. MORICONI – was bumped by ICE ICE BABY at the start and raced wide throughout. MUSTAFA – began awkwardly and as a result was slow away. BOSTON BELLE – jumped in at the start. Race 3:JASON TOMLINSON EARTHMOVING QTIS BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1200 metres OUR GOLDEN CHERUB – slow away and laid in up the home straight. Approaching the 50 metres rider Robert Faehr lost his offside iron then continued to ride OUR GOLDEN CHERUB out hard and approximately 20 metres before the finish line was dislodged from OUR GOLDEN CHERUB. After viewing the available patrol footage which showed jockey Faehr to appear to be clipped on the helmet by other runners Stewards and Queensland Ambulance officers made the decision to stand jockey Faehr down from his remaining rides due to the chance of delayed concussion taking affect. AUSSIE MYTHOLOGY – slow away. ANOTHER TOSSER – lost the off-fore shoe inside the 100 metres. COUNTRY ROADS – began awkwardly. Ducked in sharply near to finish line to avoid a fallen rider. SKOOZI’S FLYER – began awkwardly and raced wide throughout. OSAKA SUNSET – raced wide throughout. STERNY BEAR – slow away and steadied off heels approaching the 850 metres. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. THERAPY – raced wide from the 600 metres. HOT CHOCOLATE – fractious prior to the start and raced wide for the majority. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 4:BARCALDINE RACE CLUB QTIS BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1200 metres CALIFORNIA ZIM ZIM – raced 3 wide throughout. FREDDIE EDDIE – hung in throughout the early stages. ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Jockey Matthew Gray replaced Robert Faehr as the rider. SILENT ANGEL – slow away and raced wide throughout. Race 5:WESTERN FREIGHT LINK 2023 BATTLE OF THE BUSH BARCALDINE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1200 metres SMOOTH MOVE – Stewards permitted Nikki Olzard to replace Robert Faehr as the rider of SMOOTH MOVE as there was no other senior rider available. MENINDEE – slow to begin and raced wide throughout. ZUKAZ – began awkwardly. Approaching the 800 metres was forced to check and lose ground when LILLY ALLEZ shifted in despite the effortsof the rider. COZHECANCAN – raced wide throughout. ENTERPRISE GRAND – fractious prior to the start. MUSIC AWARD – began awkwardly and raced wide throughout. LILY ALLEZ (NZ) – fractious prior to the start. Down the back and approaching the 800 metres was laying in badly in despite the efforts of the rider causing ZUKAZ to check for a stride and lose ground. STARHATTAN – began very awkwardly and as a result was very slow into stride and raced wide from the 600 metres. BONNIE EV – began awkwardly, returned to scale with a laceration to the off fore, which was later bandaged by the race day veterinary surgeon. Race 6:MONDAY 3RD JULY TAB MEETING CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1300 metres THE SQUIRE – hung out from the 800 metres until the 400 metres. RAPIDS – Jockey James Baker replaced Robert Faehr as the rider. THINK HIGH – had to steady off heels near the 900 metres. REAL HUSSEY – Jockey Savannah McCann pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 2 more than permitted. Jockey McCann was issued with a reprimand. AURON – slow into stride and raced extremely wide from the 800 metres until the finish. SACRED STREAM (NZ) – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start. Near the 200 metres shifted out across REALLY REALLY GOOD resulting in REALLY REALLY GOOD checking back to the inside. Jockey Amy Graham was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. FLAMING TORCH (NZ) – raced wide throughout. HIGHLAND EAGLE – raced wide for the majority and hung in down the home straight. SHARPAY RULER – Raced wide throughout. REALLY REALLY GOOD – near the 200 metres had to check back to the inside when crossed by SACRED STREAM when it shifted out. BIGGER THAN THORN – raced wide throughout. Race 7:UNION HOTEL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1600 metres DECLASSIFY – bumped with PORTABELLE at the start. LITTLE JERRY – began awkwardly as a result was slow into stride. POTABELLE – bumped with DECLASIFY at the start. THE LANDING – began awkwardly and raced wide for the majority. TREBLA – dipped on jumping, Jockey Tim Brummell pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 1 more than permitted. Jockey Brummell was issued with a reprimand. AUVERGNE – Stewards permitted Amy Graham to replace Robert Fraer as the rider of SMOOTH MOVE as there was no other senior rider available JUST SIZZLING – Jockey Emma Bell pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 1 more than permitted.
