SteindlSUPPLEMENTARY REPORTSunshine Coast 5 September 2021Stewards concluded an inquiry in relation to an incident in the tie up stalls at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club on 5 September 2021, involving licensed stable hand James Wanless. Mr Wanless was found guilty of a charge under AR228(b), in that he misconducted himself by engaging in a physical and verbal altercation with another licensed person. Mr Wanless was fined a sum of $500 with $250 suspended for a period of 2 years under AR283(5).GENERAL Due to Covid restrictions, the following overweight was approved:Race 4 – DYNAMIC VERSE – G Steele + 1kgRace 1: BUNDABERG TOYOTA Maiden Plate 850MThe start was delayed when TEMPLE MISTRESS dislodged its tongue tie en-route to the barriers and it was unable to be refitted. Stewards granted permission for the mare to race without the tongue tie.RASHEED – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with METALLIC REIGN. Rider G Hayes reported that the gelding resented the kickback when trailing the field and as a result slow to muster early speed. SIR JOHNY – Raced wide throughout.INFORMER – Raced wide throughout. Bumped entering the home straight.MANDOLIN WIND – Hung out rounding the home turn and made contact with INFORMER. Raced greenly in the home straight. TEMPLE MISTRESS – Bumped on the hind quarters and became awkward. Jockey M Butler was reprimanded for use of the whip prior to the 100m AR132(7)(a)(ii).UNSUGARED – Raced wide throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn and in the straight.METALLIC REIGN – Bumped on jumping.Race 2: MI SIGNWORX Class B H’Cap 850mKINGOFTHEHARBOUR – Began awkwardly. Rider D Boutet reported that after being crossed near the 700m the gelding resented the kickback and did not respond to his riding and proved disappointing.BABA VANGA – Slow to begin. Resented the kickback when trailing the field. Laid out rounding the home turn and the early part of the home straight.MAJIANG – Raced wide throughout. Forced wider rounding the home turn when BABA VANGA hung out. CELEBRATING – Began awkwardly and made contact with the outside barrier partition and lost ground. Raced wide throughout and made the home turn wide.MR FUJI – Proved difficult to load. Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Rider S Stephan reported laid in throughout.Race 3: EAST END HOTEL QTIS B’Mark 55 H’Cap 1090MFRISCO’S IMAGE – Raced wide throughout. MR NODDY – Performed below market expectations. Rider H Richardson reported that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when asked to quicken approaching the home turn it failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing, adding that the gelding may not have appreciated today’s heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not identify any abnormal findings.SOLID ASSET – Raced wide throughout. YU LONG SHENG HUI – Shortly after the start was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of MR NODDY which laid out momentarily. Resented the kickback when trailing the field and as a result shifted wider near the 700m and raced wide for the remainder. NINE CIGARS – Raced wide throughout.RUTTO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. HAVASHOUT - Raced wide throughout. Race 4: LIVINGSTONE LOW ELECTRICAL COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN H’CAP 1090MWRECKING BALL – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 800m. Raced wide throughout. DYNAMIC VERSE – Stood flat footed and lost ground. Rider G Steele reported that after being slow away the gelding resented the heavy kickback and failed to respond to her riding in the early and middle stages. CRISSCROSS – Laid in for the majority of the event. Raced wide throughout. DOLCI - Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 800m. Raced wide in the early stages. WALSHIE – Approaching the 800m was eased when tightened for room between runners. Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. FAB’S COWBOY – Laid out under pressure rounding the home turn and, in the home straight. Race 5: CRAFT RENTAL & HARDWARE B’Mark H’Cap 1380MLUCKY MACHU – Stood flat footed and lost ground.
