GENERAL
 
Due to the shortage of riders and communication difficulties rider T. Chambers was permitted to ride Race 3, Saboteur, Race 4, Tiger’s Story and Race 6, Sword Fighter 2kg over their allotted weights.     
 
Race 1: MEAD PERRY GROUP/KABZS PLUMBING MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M
 
COCOA LABELLE – Slow to begin. Hung out majority of race.
 
JALISCO – Raced in restricted room near the 700m and had to be steadied.
 
PRETTY SNAZZY – Hung in early and middle stages of race. Commenced to hang out in     home straight when placed under pressure.    
 
ROBBERG – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider reported horse resented kick back.
 
MORNING RAINBOW – Began awkwardly.
 
I’M OUT – Slow to begin.  

 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 2: KAMARAN DOWNS/BIRDSVILLE HOTEL OPEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
BOOT SHAKER – Slow to begin. Hung out near the 550m.
 
SCHOORWIN – Steadied from the heels of BOOT SHAKER which hung out near 550m.
 
ACE LIGHTNING – Hung out early stages of race.
 
DUNDERRY – Began awkwardly and hung out shortly after the start.   
 
Race 3: TOBY & GEM HARRIS/TOOWOOMBA TRUCK SPARES CLASS B H’CAP – 1000M  
 
SMART CRAFT – Began awkwardly and then commenced to hang out in the early and middle stages.
 
NAYTELLRHI WORLD – Slow to begin.
 
INFINITE SUCCESS – Raced in restricted room shortly after the start and had to be steadied.
 
NORDIC RED – Raced ungenerously in the early stages of the race. 
 
Race 4: GEORGE BOURNE & ASSOC/CLUNY STATION BEDOURIE CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1600M
 
RUSTY MOTORBIKE – Reared high as start was effected causing rider to strike his head on the barrier petition and lost considerable ground. Trainer R. Robb was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Rider C. Gallagher was examined by the ambulance officer and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.
 
HOLEY GADOLEY – Hung out in the home straight and as a result was unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
 
NAUTILE – Raced wide early and middle stages.  
 
Race 5: McINNES WILSON/CAVA HYDRAULICS /CITY & COUNTRY REALTY QTIS BM 55 H’CAP – 1200M
 
JEN SEE SEE – Slow to begin.
 
POWER BUTTON – Finished tailed off. Rider S. McCullum reported on returning to scale the gelding was stepping short in its action. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer T. Austin was at a loss to explain the performance and reported the gelding had pulled up well following the race, he further added should anything come to his attention in the near future he would report this to the stewards. Stewards advised Mr Austin a warning would be placed on the horse’s poor performance.    
 
BUSH LAWYER – Rider K. Ballard reported on returning to scale that in his opinion the gelding was not entirely comfortable the anti clockwise way of racing.    
Race 6: JEAN SMITH MEMORIAL CLASS 6 H’CAP – 1300M 
 
Correct weight was delayed when T. Chambers, rider of SWORD FIGHTER wished to view the start of the race to ascertain if she was afforded a fair start. After viewing the official film she agreed its barrier gate was marginally slow to begin however had no material effect on the horses being afforded a fair start or finishing position and as such correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.  

CHASE THE ROSE – Hung out majority of race and near the 300m hampered REGAL RESERVE.
 
HYACINTHA – Fractious in barriers prior to start.
 
REGAL RESERVE – Inconvenienced near the 300m.
 
SKY DISK – Slow to begin.
 
SAWORD FIGHTER – Slow to begin.
