BIRDSVILLE RACE CLUB STEWARDS REPORT 7/9/2002

STEWARDS PANEL: J Wallis (Chairman), S Rowe, P Wallis (Asst)

WEATHER – Fine TRACK – Good RAIL – True

RACE 1: MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200m
RIVETTING LAD scratched by stewards at 12.45pm when it could not be located on course. As betting had commenced all monies invested on that horse were ordered refunded and a deduction of 10c win and 10c place was declared. A scratching lodged by the trainer was found jammed in the fax machine. No action taken.
MERYULA slowly away.
FLYING MARCUS rolled out on the home turn coming into contact with CELEBRITY STORM.

RACE 2: CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1400m
Nothing to report.

RACE 3: OPEN H'CAP – 1200m
As ARCTIC LANCE entered the boxes R Barone struck his knee on the stalls. He recovered and took his place in the field.
TELEBAN slowly away.
Following the race RAGNAR, which had accepted in the Birdsville Cup, was examined by the vet after cooling down and cleared to start in the cup.

RACE 4: CLASS 2 H’cap - 1200m
Nothing to report.

RACE 5: BIRDSVILLE CUP OPEN H'CAP – 1600m
SOLAR BURN (NZ) slowly away.

RACE 6: CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1000m
T Austin was indisposed and replaced by T Norton on TRULY OURS.
SHE’S A BENNY slowly away.
MY SHIELA ran wide on the home turn.
