QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT BARCOO AMATEUR RACING CLUB AT BLACKALL 17/04/2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – K. Allom Race 1: BARCOO AMATEUR RACE CLUB 2021 GDL QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1050 metres ANOTHER EPISODE – Was a late scratching at 12.00pm as there was no jockey available. RURAL REBEL - Jockey D. Graham was permitted by Stewards to ride 1.5 kg overweight due to no other available rider. MUSIC AWARD – Raced keenly in the early stages and lay in rounding the first turn. BETTER THAN GOLD – Brushed with OUR GIRL TAMIYA on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race. DONE IT AGAIN – Slow into stride. SPALLINA – Slow to begin. The photo finished failed to operate and as the Stewards were satisfied all horses had been correctly placed, correct weight was declared on the judges decision pursuant to Rule AR214. Race 2: ELDERS MAIDEN PLATE 1050 metres BURRACOMBE – Slow to begin and was slow into stride. MISHANI BLING – Travelled wide for much of the race to avoid the dusty conditions. OLD LIQUORICE – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. VON’S HEROINE – Fractious as the gates opened losing considerable ground with jockey P. Randall making application for the runner to be declared a non - runner. After viewing the patrol footage of the start the Stewards declared the gelding as a starter with no evidence of any outside interference and correct weight was given. Race 3: BARCOO AMATEUR RACE CLUB 2021 NUTRIEN WESTERN BM 60 HANDICAP 1200 metres MISHANI BLOSSOM – Slow into stride and shifted wide at the top of the home straight to gain clear running. ANGELS OF FENWAY – Hung out rounding the first turn. BOUND TO ME – Was taken to a rearward position shortly after the start. JUST FAVULOUS – Raced keenly in the early stages then blundered near the 900m and was awkward in its stride for some time. Jockey B Richardson stating the gelding felt uneven. A post-race veterinary inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities. ALGEROBA – Hung in rounding the first turn and travelled wide for much of the race. Race 4: FRAMES RURAL AGENCIES CLASS B HANDICAP 1400 metres STRIKE POINT – Shifted outwards over the concluding stages under pressure. RAMACHANDRA – Brushed rounding the first turn and was caught wide. Rider D. Graham then elected to take a rearward position with the gelding resenting the kick back. OLD TOWN ROAD – Awkward in its action in the back straight with jockey J Rudd stating he felt the filly was not comfortable on the surface and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary inspection failed to reveal any major anomalies. ITSALLKAY – Slow to begin and was slow into stride. NICKSY BOY – Lay outwards down the home straight under pressure. HOT CHOCOLATE – Hung out rounding the first turn brushing RAMACHANDRA. Race 5: RAY WHITE RURAL LIVESTOCK OPEN PLATE 1400 metres ZENDAYE – Heavily contacted at the start losing considerable ground, raced ungenerously and wide proving difficult to ride out. Jockey B. Richardson stating the gelding never felt comfortable at any stage. A post-race veterinary inspection failed to reveal any major abnormalities. ARGENTO PERLO – Jumped outwards contacting ZENDAYE then raced in restricted room between the 1200m and1000m having to be eased off heels on several occasions. ANCIENT ECHOES – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride. JARHEAD – Travelled wide in the middle and late stages. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees.
