Cullen Race 1: ALPHA BM 45 HANDICAP 1050 Metres Jockey D. Rewald requested to see the photo finish print prior to correct weight being given to ascertain his finishing position. After viewing the print, he was satisfied of the result and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers. WILD ELEMENT – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey R. Faehr was charged under AR132(7)(a)(ii) and fined the sum of $200 for his use of the whip on the gelding. Utilizing it 9 times prior to the 100m. ALL TOO SWEET – Jumped outwards and travelled wide in the early stages. MISS HOW LONG – Slow to begin and tended to hang in for much of the race. STRAWBERRY BLONDE – Travelled wide for much of the race. SO EMPRESSIVE – Failed to muster early speed and taken wider to avoid the kickback. WON CAPILANO – Awkward to begin. ROSAIRE – Stewards queried the performance of the mare and trainer C. Austin reported he expected the good performance being on his home track coming from a good ally. Race 2: ALPHA GOT THE RAIN OPEN HANDICAP 1050 Metres Jockey R. McMahon was permitted to ride HEAVEN’S HIGH 3kg overweight with no other riders available. Jockey D. Rewald was permitted to ride DRAYMAN 1 ½ kg overweight with no other riders available. ACEPLAY – Contacted near the 800m when an outside runner put in an awkward stride. JARHEAD – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the race. DONE IT AGAIN – Approaching the 800m when racing in restricted room, put in an awkward stride contacting an inside runner. ZILITOR – Hung out rounding the home turn. VINAIGRETTE – Slow to begin. MISS RHAPSODY – Slow into stride and travelled wide with cover. Race 3: ELDERS MAIDEN PLATE 1050 Metres OUR YOUNG MAN – Slow to muster speed in the early stages. CULTURAL ICON – Awkward and slow to begin. PRIZED ARTIST – Jumped away awkwardly contacting EPIC REIGN. EPIC REIGN – Contacted at the start. REALLY REALLY GOOD – Travelled wide with cover. SWEETLILLY PILLY – Contacted at the start and was awkward for several strides. OSAKA SUNSET – Began awkwardly contacting an outside runner and travelled wide for much of the race. Race 4: GDL QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1050 Metres SET TO FIGHT – Slow to muster speed and travelled wide to avoid the kickback. Laid in over the concluding stages. EMPIRE PRINCESS – Slow to begin and travelled wide for much of the race. PARA PARK – Awkward and slow to begin, then slow to muster speed. SHEMANDEMEDOIT – Travelled wide in the early stages. Race 5: APLHA RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 HANDICAP 1200 Metres HEROISM – Travelled wide with cover in the early and middle stages. COZHECANAN – Galloped into restricted room approaching the 750m and was eased momentarily. Laid in over the final stages when placed under pressure. NO REFUND – Travelled wide for much of the race. AUVERGNE – Slow to begin. LUCKY ENUFF – Shifted out over the concluding stages. Race 6: NUTRIEN WESTERN AG CLASS 3 PLATE 1200 Metres NO INUENDO – Travelled wide in the early stages with cover. SIZZLESUN – Slow to muster speed in the early stages. ZEBONET – Fractious prior to jumping, then jumped away awkwardly and slow losing ground. ASBURY PARK – Over raced in the early stages, ducked outwards near the 100m then dipped awkwardly and was reluctant to stretch out from that point of the event. A post-race veterinary inspection failed to show any abnormalities. BOOM OR BUST – Travelled wide in the early stages. Race 7: FRAME’S RURAL AGENCY BM 55 HANDICAP 1400 Metres MANDEVILLE ROCKER – Maneuvered wider in the middle stages to avoid the kickback. SURPRISE SELECTION – Travelled wide in the early stages. AMADEO – Slow to begin. PORTABELLE – Slow away. LADY SNITCH -- Late scratching at the barrier when refusing to load. Deductions were announced with correct weight with all monies invested on LADY SNITCH refunded. Deductions of 16 cents in the dollar value of the win bet & 14 cents in the face value of place bet. Trainer P. O’Toole was advised the mare would need to undergo an official barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again. Race 8: RAY WHITE LIVESTOCK OPEN HANDICAP 1400 Metres TRUMP ME – Slow to begin, galloped onto heels approaching the 1000m and was eased. Laid out down the home straight. HOT COCOLATE – Slow to begin and travelled wide in the early stages. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees. FinesR. Faehr - $200 – Whip use AR132(7)(a)(ii).
