GENERAL
Apprentice Amy Graham was unable to attend the meeting due to being injured on the 14th of July 2023. A. Graham was advised that she would require a medical clearance prior to retuning to riding. The replacement riders as per the race day summary.
 
Race 1: GBA ENGINEERING BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1050m
 
NO NAY EMERALD – Apprentice S. McCann reported that she was disappointed in the mares performance and failed to respond when placed under pressure in the home straight. A subsequent post-race veterinarian examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
FREDDIE EDDIE – Began awkwardly as a result slow to begin. Brushed the running rail passing the 700m.
 
SKOOZI’S FLYER – Jumped outwards at the start momentarily impeding STERNY BEAR. Lay inwards from the 200m.
 
TAMSIN – A post-race veterinarian examination revealed abrasions to the nearside stifle. Trainer R. Little was advised that the filly would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.
 
LADY FEY – After not starting for a period of over twelve months LADY FEY underwent a pre-race veterinarian examination and was cleared to start.
 
PRIZED ARTIST – Lay inwards onto the heels of HOT CHOCOLATE approaching the 800m, Subsequently Blundered and lost ground.
 
ROSETTES – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
STERNY BEAR – Momentarily impeded by SKOOZI’S FLYER upon jumping. Raced wide in the early stages. Inclined to lay inwards from the 200m.
 
HOT CHOCOLATE – Lay inwards when placed under pressure.
 
 
Race 2: RYAN BROS BENCHMARK 45 Handicap 1050m
 
ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MISS MIRACULOUS – Shifted inwards and momentarily restrained passing the 300m to avoid the heels of tiring YOU BETTER YOU BET.
 
GHETTO – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
SIZZLESUN – Raced ungenerously shortly after the start.
 
 
Race 3: KINGS RURAL CONTRACTING QTIS Maiden Plate 1200m
 
BEAN FORTUNATE – Began Awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Approaching the 600m improved onto the heels of LE KITA and shifted outwards carrying READY MADE and ARGONTIL wider on the track.
 
BINDANGO – Raced greenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
GARSIDE – Raced wide early. Lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
READY MADE – Carried wider on the track approaching the 600m when BEAN FOURTUATE shifted out to avoid heels. Raced wide throughout.
 
ARGONTIL – Raced wide in the early stages. carried wider on the track approaching the 600m when BEAN FOURTUATE shifted out to avoid heels.
 
BRENT STREET – Slow into stride.
 
VALIANT JOAN – Jumped inwards at the start.
 
 
Race 4: TJO GRASSROOTS CONSULTING RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1200m
 
REAL HUSSEY – Raced Wide throughout.
 
BIONIC – Raced wide throughout.
 
HIGHLAND EAGLE – Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide in the early stages. Inclined to lay in throughout the event.
 
HEROISM – Raced wide throughout.
 
SHARPAY RULER – Slow into stride.
 
 
Race 5: NOEL ALLOM MEMORIAL CUP OPEN Handicap 1200m
 
FAB’S COWBOY – Apprentice E. Pomfrett was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip 9 times prior to the 100m, 4 more than permitted.
 
SMOOTH MOVE – Jumped in at the start impeding ZUKAZ. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
ZUKAZ – Stewards permitted apprentice S. Wilcock to not claim her full allowance due to being notified late of the ride. Impeded on jumping by SMOOTH MOVE and COYNES ROAD. Raced wide throughout.
 
UNRESTRICTED – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
HEYINGTON STATION – Began awkwardly.
 
PARKBURN – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
NEW YORK WORLD – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
COYNES ROAD – Jumped outwards at start impeding ZUKAZ. Raced wide throughout. Lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey J. Rudd was spoken to advisedly in regard to correcting his mount when hanging in through the home straight.
 
 
Race 6: SPRINGLEIGH MERINOS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400m
 
GALAPAGOS – Lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Stewards intend to speak to apprentice S. Wilcock in regard to her use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
REVENIRE – Stood flat footed and slow to begin as a result.
 
LAURIE – Raced wide through the early and middle stages.
 
IN AGREEMENT – Raced wide early.
 
SACRED STREAM (NZ) – Over raced in the early stages.
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Raced wide throughout.
 
OUR YOUNG MAN – Failed to show any early speed.
