Race 1: S & W Crane Hire Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – MISHANI SPERANZA 2nd – ZOE BAY 3rd – THE TEENY HASS 4th – BOMBER MISS

GALLIVANTING – Was a late withdrawal at 1:41pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the barriers. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on the mare be refunded in full and further that all winning wagers be subject to deductions of 3 cents in the dollar win and 5 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer’s representative Mr. C Tapiolas was advised that the mare would be required to obtain one (1) barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again.

THE TEENY HASS – Was slowly into stride.

Race 2: Glencore Abbot Pt Bulk Coal QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – DYNA CI 2nd – RED CHEVY COUPE 3rd – DELTA MAGIC 4th – WHO’S YOUR CADDY

HONEST FRIEND – Was slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly.

DELTA MAGIC – Began awkwardly. Attempted to buck in the early stages. Trainer’s representative Mr. B Williams was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.

ROYAL COUPE – Shifted in marginally near the 800 metres causing minor tightening to runners inside. App Ms. G Mitchell was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

WHO’S YOUR CADDY – Shifted out abruptly on jumping and bumped with another runner. Was inconvenienced near the 800 metres by another runner which shifted in marginally.

BOO BOO SNITZEL – Was bumped by another runner on jumping. Was inconvenienced near the 800 metres by another runner which shifted in marginally.

DYNA CI – Jockey D Simmons reported that the mare had been inclined to race greenly throughout.

Race 3: Bowen Industrial Hire Benchmark 60 Handicap 1280 metres:
1st – STARLIGHT BELLE 2nd – STAR TRUCE 3rd – MISHANI CENTURION 4th – PRESSUM

MISHANI CENTURION, which was resuming after a prolonged absence from racing, was inspected pre-race by the Veterinarian and passed fit to start.

PRESSUM – Bumped with another runner soon after jumping.

STARLIGHT BELLE - Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Was inclined to hang in for a short distance near the 800 metres. Attempted to lay in under pressure down the running.



Race 4: Kahli’s Kause Benchmark 45 Handicap 1280 metres:
1st – UNDIAMO 2nd – SOTTERO 3rd – ISTALENA 4th – WINDSOR GOLD

WINDSOR GOLD – Was slowly into stride.

MISS SNIPSTER – Jockey J Long reported that the mare had been reluctant to stretch out in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery rate, but no other abnormalities.

Race 5: Neil & Christine Stone Class B Handicap 1470 metres:
1st – MOCCADILES 2nd – WILD DIVA 3rd – SMALL CHANGE 4th – GABONIA

MOCCADLIES and GABONIA, which were both backing up after competing at Townsville on Thursday April 7th, were both inspected pre-race by the Veterinarian and passed fit to start.

GABONIA – Was unable to muster pace in the early and middle stages.

WILD DIVA – Had to be shifted out across heels when held up for clear running near the 100 metres.
