Race5: Mackay Rural Entec Cup Open Handicap 1800 metres:
Following its poor performance trainer Mr J Manzelmann confirmed that PAYTEEVEE would now be retired.

Race 1: Bowen Independent Class B Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – MOUNTAIN LANE 2nd – ROCKETTE ROCKET 3rd – DYNA CI 4th – KAP IT OFF

KAP IT OFF – Was kicked by another runner behind the barriers and was inspected by the veterinarian and was passed fit to start.

POLLY PARROT – Began awkwardly then was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages.

THEATRE BOY – Shifted out abruptly at the start.

BONNIE BON BON – Was bumped shortly after the start.

MOUNTAIN LANE – Was inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.

ROCKETTE ROCKET – Was inclined to lay in under pressure and near the 100 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels.

DYNA CI – On return to scale Apprentice M Haley reported that his mount hung out throughout the race.

Race 2: Bowen Top Of The Whitsundays Maiden Plate 1100 metres:
1st – SHARP BIJOU 2nd – GENTLY GUIDED 3rd – MAGIC GLOW 4th – GENERAL BEERS

DIAMONDNET – Was a late withdrawal at 8.20am when no rider was available.

BIRTHDAY WISHES – Was a late withdrawal at 8.20am when no rider was available.

LA DIOSA – Was a late withdrawal at 8.20am when no rider was available.

DORA’S MAGIC – Was bumped at the start.

ADEPERO – Was crowded at the start. Laid out rounding the turn near the 700 metres.

GENERAL BEERS – Made the turn near the 700 metres awkwardly.

AUTHADANE – When questioned regarding the poor performance Jockey D Simmons explained that after being tardy at the start the gelding travelled comfortably in a rearward position however when placed under pressure prior to straightening his mount failed to respond and was disappointing.

Race 3: Bowen Gem Of The Coral Coast Class 3 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – UNI 2nd – FORTUNE MASCOT 3rd – BELLE RINGS 4th – LEAVE PASS

FORTUNE MASCOT – Bumped at the start.

BELLE RINGS – Shifted out at the start and bumped with another runner.

Passing the 1000 metres BELLE RINGS (Jockey C McIver) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of FORTUNE MASCOT (Jockey G Watson) which shifted in when racing keenly.

Race 4: Tropix Refrigeration Open Handicap 1470 metres:
1st – ZINDZELA 2nd – BOBCAT 3rd – SECRET STEALTH 4th – MISHANI CENTURION

SECRET STEALTH – Was slow to begin.

STAR TRUCE – Began awkwardly then raced very ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

Race 5: Koorelah Farm Whitsunday Cup Benchmark 50 Handicap 1470 metres:
1st – JUNEE BOY 2nd – ALDREN 3rd – JORDAN 4th – PAYTEEVEE

WINDSOR GOLD – Was a late withdrawal at 8.20am when no rider was available.

UNDIAMO – Was a late withdrawal at 8.20am when no rider was available.

LOGAN’S RUN – Was a late withdrawal at 10.50am on veterinary advice. Stable representative Ms T Bannon was told that prior to racing again a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced.

MYSTIC HARMONY – Slow to begin.

MARIO – Apprentice M Haley reported that his mount travelled well in a prominent position throughout however when placed under pressure in the straight was disappointing.
