Due to a miscommunication from the Official Race Starter to Stewards the gelding was inadvertently notified as a late scratching at 2.08pm when in fact it had been passed fit to start. CRAIGLEA FOCUS When questioned in relation to the riding tactics adopted in todayys event which resulted in the mare establishing a commanding lead in the early and middle stages Jockey M Haley advised that he was issued with no specific instructions other than to ride the mare, which had a tendency to over-race in the past, where it was comfortable in running. Although surprised at the ease with which the mare was able to obtain the lead Jockey Haley was reluctant to restrain it whilst it was continuing to race generously. Stewards noted the explanation.
