SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Jockey Vishan Venkaya advised stewards prior to race 1 at today’s program that he would be 0.5kg overweight in Race 1 and 1kg overweight in Races 2 and 3. Trainer J. Patterson gave permission for jockey Venkaya for ride his horses over their allotted weights, and jockey Venkaya was issued with a reprimand. In assessing penalty, Stewards were mindful of jockey Venkaya’s exemplary record regarding this rule.

Race 1: PRESIDENTS MAIDEN PLATE 100M

BILLIONS – Apprentice S. Lacy reported to Stewards on returning to scale that she made contact with the barriers at the start.

PUBLIC FORTUNE - Reared at the start and lost ground.

RUN LOLLY RUN - Reared prior to the gates opening and lost considerable ground. Travelled wide throughout.


Race 2: LEAH STIRTON RATINGS BAND 0- 45 HANDICAP 1000M

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Trainer Mr John Patterson and Jockey V. Venkaya to view the film over the final stages of the event. After viewing the film both parties were satisfied and correct weight was subsequently declared by Stewards.

DOMINICO – Raced wide from the middle stages of the event.

MIRFAK - Jumped out awkwardly at the start and lost ground. Momentarily held up near the 50m when KEEP THE CURRENCY (J. Rudd) shifted ground under pressure. Jockey J. Rudd was advised to exercise more care.

EMMAROSE - Began awkwardly and then jumped out and made contact with another runner.

KEEP THE CURRENCY – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.


Race 3: BRETT MOODY CLASS 3 PLATE 1100M

SEZWHO – Slow to begin and made contact with another runner. Finished tailed off. When questioned, jockey C. Dixon advised Stewards in his opinion the horse is better suited to races over a longer distance and did not handle the track surface at today’s meeting.

CARBON TAIKUN - Began awkwardly and brushed the barrier gates.

GOLD BONANZA - Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 500m. When questioned, Apprentice S. Lacy stated the horse was not suited to the surface today and resented the kickback. She said the horse was disappointing as she expected a forward showing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

TENMOREGRAND - Began awkwardly and then shifted in soon after the start.

WASHER – Jumped out and blundered shortly after the start.


Race 4: BOOKMAKERS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 800M

The start of the race was delayed due to MIGGERU proving difficult to load. Trainer B. Dixon was advised he will need to obtain a further barrier certificate for MIGGERU prior to the gelding racing again.

POLAR BLITZ - Jumped out at the start and made heavy contact with another runner. Laid in under pressure over the final stages.

GARDER LE FOI – Bumped by another runner leaving the 500m. Raced wide from the 400m point.

MIGGERU - Jockey reported to Stewards the barrier gate came back and hit the horse at the start. Shortly after the start the horse was bumped heavily by another runner and lost ground. Raced wide from the middle stages. Bumped another runner approaching the 500m mark.

MASTER FARALON - Began awkwardly.
