General:
As V. Venkaya was injured, riding replacements were made as per the race day summary.

After fulfilling his riding engagements, jockey J. King failed to supply a urine sample as directed by Stewards. Jockey King was stood down from riding under the provisions of AR.81A.(3) and an inquiry will be convened at a date and time to be fixed.


Race 1: BOOKMAKERS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000m
1st – BETTER OFFER 2nd – THAT’S HER I THINK 3rd – MYBOYOLIVER 4th - PUBLIC FORTUNE

CAPITAL TYCOON – Blundered badly at the start and lost ground.

MYBOYOLIVER – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice J Brand reported at scale that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout the event.


Race 2: ANNIVERSARY CLASS 6 PLATE – 1000m
1st – SCREAMING JET 2nd – NOOR DROPPER 3rd – POLAR BLITZ 4th – MARBLE PRINCE

POLAR BLITZ – Tightened for room at the start.

MARBLE PRINCE - Tightened for room at the start.

NOOR DROPPER – Had to be steadied from heels near the 900m.


Race 3: LES BAKER MEMORIAL OPEN H’CAP – 1400m
1st – CARBON TAIKUN 2nd – CRAWFISH 3rd – BRADY ‘N’ ME 4th – CUBAN FURY

BRADY ‘N’ ME – Slow to begin.


Race 4: NEVILLE GREEN MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1400m
1st – MEZZANOTTE 2nd – WILD GODSON 3rd – BOB MARK’S BOY 4th – COOL DAYS

BOB MARK’S BOY – Began awkwardly.

WILD GODSON – Slow to muster speed. Raced wide throughout.



Race 5: DICK LEEDS – LIFE MEMBER CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m
1st – FAB’S COWBOY 2nd – STONEYRISE 3rd – CAST OUT 4th – SECOND LOVE

MIRFAK – Late scratching at 3.00pm as no rider was available.

STONEYRISE – Bumped another runner at the start.

BURKETOWN LARRIKIN – Bumped another runner at the start.

RODEL – Had to be checked and lost ground when tightened for room near the 900m to the inside of MY MATE MARTO (App. J. Brand), which was taken in by CRAWS (D. Brown). At a subsequent inquiry D. Brown pled guilty to a charge of careless riding and his license to ride in races was suspended for a period of seven (7) days, to commence midnight 9 July 2016 and expire midnight 16 July 2016.
