QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CHARLEVILLE RACE CLUB CHARLEVILLE RACE CLUB – SATURDAY MARCH 6TH 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SAND RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R Hitchener Stewards – B McErleanClerk of Scales – QRIC StewardsJudge – B Lines Veterinarian – Dr T Eckel Starter – R KingGeneral Apprentice A Ross failed to claim down to her allocated riding weight in races 2 and 5. Apprentice A Ross was issued a $200 fine for each offence under AR143(14)(a). Race 1: BOOKMAKERS Benchmark 60 Handicap 800m ELITE GREY – Was declared a late scratching @ 9:20am on veterinary advice. BELLA’S BROTHER – As there was no replacement rider available Jockey Z White was permitted to ride the gelding 1.0kg over the allocated weight. Jockey Z White was issued a reprimand under AR190(3). When considering penalty stewards were mindful that Jockey White had only recently returned from an extended absence from riding. PRINCESS LOTTIE – Commenced to buck shortly after the start taking no competitive part in the event. Trainer W Baker was advised the mare would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next racing. CATHVALANNA – Began awkwardly. LOW LEVEL FLYING – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. JUST FAVULOUS – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Race 2: CWRC Maiden Plate 800m COLLECTION – Fractious in the barriers. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. OLD TOWN ROAD – Tightened between runners on jumping. Hung out in the early stages forcing another runner wider on the track. Race 3: PRESIDENT’S Class B Handicap 1000m LADY ELLEY – Was declared a late scratching @ 10:25am on veterinary advice. GRAND GIFT – After rearing over in the barriers the filly was subsequently declared a late scratching @ 2:48pm by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice. Upon the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on GRAND GIFT be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 2:48 pm:0 cents in the dollar for the win6 cents in the dollar for place 8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place13 cents in the dollar for 3rd place Trainer C Smith was advised the filly would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to next racing. Apprentice D McGillivray was examined by the QAS and was cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements. LEICA SPECIAL – Knuckled on jumping. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority. IRISH SPIRIT – Slow to begin. OUR VERA – Began awkwardly. GET IN THE GROOVE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. NICKSY BOY – Raced wide for the majority.Race 4: ST MARY’S SCHOOL Benchmark 50 Handicap 1200m SKALD – Began awkwardly. SO STUNNING – Laid in in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority. PHONZIA – Raced wide for the majority. HOCKED – Hung out rounding the home turn. ALL TOO SWEET – Hung out rounding the home turn. Race 5: MURWEH SHIRE COUNCIL Open Handicap HIGH COST - Knuckled on jumping. IL BANDITO – Began awkwardly. THE CONSIGLIERE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
