QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CENTRAL WARREGO RACE CLUB VENUE- CHARLEVILLE SATURDAY 1st OCTOBER 2023 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING- SOFT (SAND) RAIL TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – T PrestonStewards – W GlassClerk of Scales – Z TilleyJudge – V JonesVeterinarian – Dr T EckelStarter – E BrassingtonPhoto finish Operator- B Lines GENERAL Stewards downgraded the track rating from a Soft to a Heavy following the running of Race 3 on today’s program. Stewards also requested the Club to perform remedial work on the track surface after the running of Race 3 due to the large divots that were present over the entire surface after the first three races. As a result the starting times for Race 4, 5 and Race 6 were amended to 3.15pm, 3.50pm and 4.30pm respectively. Stewards permitted the following weight variations at today’s meeting- Jky P Randall- Races 2, 4 and 5- +.5kg. Race 1: GLOBAL TURF MAIDEN PLATE 1000M ALL HELL- Trainer C Storch advised that gelding had unloaded from the float awkwardly and has a minor laceration on the off hind leg. Stewards ordered a pre-race veterinary examination be undertaken with the horse being passed fit to race at today’s meeting. No veterinary certificate was required. FOREVER INVINCIBLE- Was slow to begin. Jky R Faehr advised stewards that at the 800m point of the race he was inconvenienced as a result of DUTCHESS TILLY rolling in. Stewards noted his comments. Raced wide for the majority\. READY MADE- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Tended to lay in in the home straight for some distance before being corrected by the rider. Jky L Miller reported feeling unwell on returning to scales. Jky Miller was stood down by Stewards acting under medical advice from QAS. Rider changes are as per the Stewards race Day Summary. Jky Miller was advised that he would require a medical certificate prior to riding again. CHILLING ME SOFTLY- Acting on advice from the Starter Mr E Brassington a pre-race veterinary examination was undertaken with the Mare being passed fit to race. DUCHESS TILLY- Tended to roll in when approaching the 800m point as a result of the soft going. RACE 2: RACING AGAIN QTIS RATING BAND 0-50 HANDICAP 1000M MURPHYS RIVER- Began to weaken from the 100m point. IKIGAI STAR- Raced wide for the majority. Ran on well over the concluding stages of the event. MR DEMOLITION- Jky A Sweeney replaced Jky L Miller- illness. ROSETTES- Slow to begin. THE SABBATH- Raced wide for the majority and after entering the home straight raced extremely wide when hanging in in the home straight. Ran on well over the final stages despite travelling wide. Stewards questioned Jky P Randall after the run, and he advised the horse did hang but he was of the opinion that the horse wasn’t suited by the track surface today. Stewards noted his comments. Race 3: SUFFCON OPEN HANDICAP 1200M DYNAMIC VERSE- Was slow to begin. Raced three wide with no cover for the majority of the event. DALTORO- Dipped badly at the start and lost ground at that point. NO DEBT- Began awkwardly when the horse jumped in the air and then blundered shortly after the start. Then raced wide for the majority of the event. Tended to lay in in the home straight for some distance before being corrected by the rider. TOURMASTER- Began to weaken over the final stages of the event. Race 4: VIV JONES/VICTOR TIGHE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200M WITHOUT SHAME- Raced wide for the majority of the event. LENROY- Dipped at the start and then slow into stride. ANANAGRAM- Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. FAMUS FELLA- Slow to begin after the barrier gates bounced back and made contact with the horse as the start was affected. LORD LOBSTER- Jky A Bakos replaced Jky L Miller due to illness. Began awkwardly when jumping out at the start. Jky A Bakos advised Stewards that the horse was not suited by the track at today’s meeting. Stewards noted her comments. Race 5: JONES SMASH REPAIRS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 16250M DERBARI- Slow to begin, Raced at the rear of the field and travelled wide for the majority of the event. LASCO- Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. Attempted to rear shortly after the start before being corrected by the rider and lost ground. Stewards notified Trainer W Pugsley regarding Lasco’s behaviour at today’s meeting and acting under the provision of AR75(1)(b) placed a Warning on the horse. D’ORO HEART- Slow to begin and raced wide for the majority of the event. INHISTIME- Stewards acting under the provision of LR 68(1) fined Trainer Mr C Storch the sum of $200 for his failure to scratch a dual acceptor by the prescribed time. Race 6: WESTERN RURAL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400M SALAZAR- Slow to begin and then raced at the rear of the field for the majority. Ran on well in the home straight. Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr. C Smith regarding the performance of the Mare today. He advised he was disappointed with her performance and is at a loss as to her behaviour. He further stated that she’s been working well. Stewards notified Mr Smith and acting under the provision of AR75(1)(b) placed a Warning on the mare.. SACRED STREAM- Raced wide for the majority of the event. MUIRON- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Stewards questioned Trainer/Jky Ms C Rogers regarding the seemingly improved performance of MUIRON at today’s meeting. Ms Rogers stated the gelding had been working very well, during the running she let him obtain a forward position where he settled early and was relaxed in running. He began to work into the race nicely from the middle stages of the event and ran on very well. The gelding seemed to appreciate the heavy going where others weren’t so comfortable. Stewards noted her comments. BALLYCASTLE- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
