RACE 1 CHINCHILLA BP CLASS 1 HCP 1030M

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to consider an application from the jockey and connections that DALIWOY BAY be declared a non-runner due to the horse having not been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from all parties and reviewing the patrol footage, Stewards established that after entering the stalls DALIWOY BAY was held by a barrier attendant, however only one of the back gates was closed. The horse then backed out of the stalls just before the starter released the field. Stewards were satisfied that DALIWOY BAY was not afforded a fair start and was declared a non-runner. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on DALIWOY BAY be refunded, with the following deductions applicable:

1 cent in the dollar for the winner #8
9 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #8
15 cents in the dollar for second place #7
14 cents in the dollar for third place #9

KHARPTIVATA - Trainer C Smith fined $100 for failing to produce the ID card. Stood flat-footed and lost ground.

AZUSA – Tightened for room at the start.

RHODRY – Tightened for room at the start.


RACE 2 THE CLUB HOTEL AFTER PARTY MAIDEN PLATE 1200M

COCONUT BAY – Shifted in at the start.

ALEMANA - Bumped another runner at the start. Raced wide without cover in the middle stages.

BUCKSTAR - Raced wide throughout and at the home turn had to be eased from the heels of ICIER (T. Banks), which shifted out. T. Banks was reprimanded for shifting out when insufficiently clear.

SEQUOIA MISS - Slow to begin. Raced greenly in the home straight and shifted out sharply passing the winning post.

NOTHING VENTURED – Trainer B. Waldon advised that the gelding was unable to hold a forward position and drifted back in the field but finished the race off solidly.


RACE 3 LANDMARK BENCHMARK 45 HCP 1200M

ASTRO NASCENTE – Jockey L. Appo was reminded of his obligations after placing another runner in restricted room shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout and taken wider on the home turn. Laid in at the 150 metres.

AUBREY’S ACE - Dipped on jumping away and lost ground and then forced to race wide thoughout.

WONGARANDA - Raced wide for the majority of the event.

BUSH BEAT - Raced wide rounding the home turn.

CHARZOOKA – Jockey S. Apthorpe reprimanded for using his whip more than five times prior to the 100m.


RACE 4 THE VICTOR BLACK MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HCP 1200M

NADOR – Steadied when tightened for room shortly after the start.

STRENGTH - Overraced in the early stages and was inclined to hang in. Raced keenly near the 400m when held up on heels.

PARADISE PINK – Apprentice T. Germaine was reprimanded for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m.


RACE 5 WARREGO WATER SERVICES BENCHMARK 50 HCP 1400 M

The start of this race was delayed when MORE FAVULOUS refused to load and was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards 4:34pm. Trainer D Baker was advised that he will need to obtain a further barrier certificate for MORE FAVULOUS prior to the horse racing again. All monies invested on MORE FAVULOUS were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable:

11 cents in the dollar for the winner #4
16 cents in the dollar for the place of winner #4
14 cents in the dollar for second place #2
15 cents in the dollar for third place #10

IOWNA PRINCE - Raced wide with no cover throughout.

ONE LUCKY SHIELA - Hung out in the early stages.

TOUCAN UKELELE - Jumped very awkwardly and lost ground.
