Raced wide rounding the home turn.Race 2: North West Queensland Painting Benchmark 60 Handicap 1000 metres:1st – ON A SHINING STAR 2nd – SPLASH OUT 3rd – COSMO KING 4th – TESTAMYCOLOURSTESTAMYCOLOURS – Raced wide rounding the home turn.SETH – Raced wide rounding the home turn.COSMO KING – A post-race veterinary examination revealed gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer Ms K North was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced prior to the gelding racing again.Race 3: Leichardt Hotel Benchmark 50 Handicap 1200 metres:1st – FLAMINGO ROSE 2nd – TUNING 3rd – TIRYNS 4th – SNAZZY SOXZIGGLER – Was difficult to load into the barriers. Slow to begin and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.EXTRA – raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 4: Curley Cattle Transport Open Plate 1200 metres:1st – GOLDEN METEOR 2nd – BEAUDRAGON 3rd – FIVE O’CLOCK 4th – NOOGOORA BURRTRAVEL IN STYLE – Was a late scratching when the gelding was sore in front. Trainer Mrs D Ballard was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced prior to the gelding racing again.NOOGOORA BURR – Was fractious in the mounting enclosure and difficult to load. Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer Ms S Gabriel – Royes said she would now experiment with the gear on the gelding.Race 5: Central Hotel Class B Handicap 1400 metres:1st – CHOMARU 2nd – MOJAVE ROYALE 3rd – MR ROCKYARD 4th – LUCKY APACHEMOJAVE ROYALE – Difficult to load into the barriers. Raced wide near the 1000 metres.AKHEILOS – Raced wide rounding the home turn.DASHING DUB – When questioned in regard to the poor performance Jockey A Spradau explained that the gelding travelled well in a prominent position however when placed under pressure was disappointing and weakened. He added that in his opinion the gelding was required to carry more weight in a stronger grade than last start.
