GENERAL
 
Trainer C Rogers contacted stewards after scratching time to inform them that she was unable to attend the meeting due to transport issues. Subsequently stewards withdrew MUIRON, SALAZAR and THE UPRISING from their respective events at 10.30am.
 
Stewards acceded to a request from trainer A. Jones to substitute C. Rogers for (a) P. Carter as the rider of RUBY LAGO in Race 4 when there were no other riders available.
 
Race 1: IRONMONGER SHIPPING C3 PLT - 1000M
 
Correct weight was momentarily delayed to ascertain whether GROWL was afforded a fair start. After hearing evidence from the starter and apprentice jockey E Molloy, it was determined that GROWL reared as the start was effected and was not denied a fair start, therefore stewards declared correct weight.
 
ADAMAS PRINCE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer L Kiernan stated that ADAMAS PRINCE would most likely be retired now however nonetheless was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
GROWL – Reared as the start was effected and refused to take any competitive part in the event. Trainer G Bell was advised thar GROWL would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.
 
Race 2: ULTON QTIS MDN PLT – 1000M
 
ANNIE’S TOP – Slow to begin
 
CASA FAGLIANO – Steadied near the 600m when LITTLE MISS BELLE hung in. Steadied when racing in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
LITTLE MISS BELLE – Hung in near the 600m minorly inconveniencing CASA FAGLIANO.
 
ROSE ALICE – Jockey C Taylor reported on scales that in his opinion, ROSE ALICE would benefit from the removal of the blinkers and the addition of winkers.
 
Race 3: RAYMENT EXCAVATIONS OPEN PPLT - 1072M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, stewards were informed of a power outage which occurred during the running of the event. Due to this outage, the margins, times and official films weren’t able to be recorded. As there were no deliberation with the placings recorded from the judges, stewards declared correct weight.
 
COCHRANE – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
GRAND DE LAGO – Slow into stride.
 
Race 4: CALLIOPE CENTRAL BOWLS CLUB BM45 HCP – 1072M
 
GOLD REVOLUTION – Slow to begin.
 
MOLLOY – Slow to begin. Jockey D Baker reported to stewards that in his opinion, MOLLOY may have choked down in the run after getting its tongue over the bit. Trainer L Kiernan informed stewards that he would now look to experiment with MOLLOY’S gear.
 
RUBY LAGO – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 5: CALLIOPE RURAL TRADERS GOLD CUP BM55 HCP - 1608M
 
WHISKEY ROW – Shifted in on jumping hampering ATHENA’S SECRET.
 
ATHENA’S SECRET –Slow to begin and hampered shortly after.
 
TELMESOMETHIN’GIRL – Eased for a stride near the 1400m when allowing LYNRIC LASS to assume the lead.
