RACE 1: Carlton Mid QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 950 metres
1st - LUSHAN 2nd - WILL HE TORQUE 3rd - SILVER RUSH 4th - HEART OF TIER/BOLT ON BY (dh)

LUSHAN - Blundered badly at the start and lost ground.

HEART OF TIER - Began awkwardly. Jockey F. Edwards will be interviewed at a later date in relation to his use of the whip on the filly.

MY SPECIAL LADY - Crowded for room at the start.

PINK BARBIE - Slow to muster speed in the early stages.

Passing the 500 metres SECOND TIME AROUND (Jockey S. Kaya) hung out, took charge of its rider and carried MITCHY'S INSTINCT (Jockey D. Simmons) extremely wide on the track. PANDAMAN (Jockey K. Stone), which was following, was hampered as a consequence. A post-race veterinary examination of SECOND TIME AROUND did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer A. Bailey was told that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

BOLT ON BY - Passing the 200 metres shifted in and bumped MCBRIDLE (Jockey K. Rockett).

SILVER RUSH - Passing the 200 metres shifted out in search of clear running and made contact with WILL HE TORQUE (Apprentice C. Jokic).

RACE 2: Walkers Lawyers Maiden Handicap - 1250 metres
1st - CASINO ESCAPEE 2nd - MONASHEE LASS 3rd - SHADOW MOUNTAIN 4th - EILEEN ANNIE

THE HURRICANE - Slow to begin, then made the first turn, near the 900 metres, awkwardly.

HE'S HARADA'S SON - Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped CASINO ESCAPEE (Jockey J. Lambie).

DAESY DANORO - On returning to scale Jockey G. Watson reported that his mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event and in his opinion may have got its tongue over the bit.

ROBABANK - When questioned regading the below market expectations performance of the gelding, Jockey S. Wilson said that his mount travelled comfortably throughout, however when placed under pressure in the early part of the straight failed to respond and ran to the finish only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Jockey Wilson was fined $200 under A.R. 137A for using his whip on the gelding on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres.

RACE 3: Interline Magic Millions/FNQ Up & Coming Stayers BenchMark 65 Handicap - 1900 metres
1st - FIELDS OF TUSCANY 2nd - GO GIRLFRIEND 3rd - JORDAN 4th - ALDREN

KAMARAH - Bounded in the air at the start.

HOTEL SPLENDIDO - Was standing awkwardly in the barriers and then was slow to begin. Raced in restricted room in the early part of the home straight.

CARLINO'S WAY - Slow to begin and rounding the turn near the 400 metres was buffeted between runners.

ALDREN - Was bumped rounding the home turn.

FILLE VILAINE - After being crossed rounding the turn near the 1600 metres,commenced to over-race and refused to settle thereafter.

Passing the 1300 metres KAMARAH and FIELDS OF TUSCANY bumped.

Jockey W.D'Avila pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that approaching the 1100 metres he allowed FIELDS OF TUSCANY to shift in when not sufficiently clear of KAMARAH (Jockey S. Wiseman), which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey D'Avila was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday 16th July 2016, up to and including midnight on Wednesday 27th July 2016.

GO GIRLFRIEND - Laid in in the early part of the straight and bumped CARLSON'S FELT (Jockey K Stone)

RACE 4: Telesat Services Open Handicap - 950 metres
1st - MAURIZIO 2nd - CHATEAU DETTORI 3rd - ROYAL PHYSICIAN 4th - BOOM SHA LA

MAURIZIO - Slow to begin.

CHATEAU DETTORI - Slow to begin, then was crowded shortly afterwards. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

ISADOR AMORE - Began awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with CHEVAL ARGENTE (Apprentice R. Payne).

Rounding the turn near the 500 metres ISADOR AMORE (Jockey N Yadi) shifted in away from ROYAL PHYSICIAN (Jockey P Cullen) and crowded CHEVAL ARGENTE (Apprentice R Payne) in onto ROSE OF CLARE (Apprentice M Kai) which in turn was bumped and taken in onto SUNSET SHOWDOWN (Jockey J Lambie). A short distance later CHEVAL AREGENTE again had to be eased when crowded by ISADOR AMORE which continued to shift in when not quite clear. MIATA (Apprentice M Murphy) which was following improved onto heels and had to be checked.

MIATA - Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.

WISHFUL - In the early part of the straight laid in and bumped BOOM SHA LA (Jockey W. D'Avila).

RACE 5: Shane Tibbs & Associates Class 3 Plate - 1500 metres
1st - ROCHALLOR 2nd - BEG PARDON 3rd - BLAZING ALLY 4th - GREAT PRETENDER

HELOW TUCKER - Began awkwardly with its head up.

GAINSFORD - Momentarily crowded for room shortly after the start.

LEAVE PASS - In the early part of the straight was awkwardly placed on heels.

RACE 6: Keir Queensland BenchMark 55 Handicap - 1250 metres
1st - FLYING IGGY 2nd - CUT 'N' POLISH 3rd - EXALTED WARRIOR 4th - COMPULSIVE ROCKET

MAN OF BUSINESS - When Jockey K. Rockett was wrongly engaged due to a misunderstanding, stewards permitted Jockey S.Wiseman to be substituted. Rounding the first turn was inclined to race ungenerously and refused to settle, shifted in and crowded EXALTED WARRIOR (Apprentice M. Haley).

PINK STILETTO - Was bumped at the start. On returning to scale Apprentice L. Attard reported that in his opinion the mare may have got its tongue over the bit.

SAGA'S PRINCESS - Crowded for room at the start, then raced wide throughout.

CUT 'N' POLISH - Crowded for room at the start.

EXALTED WARRIOR - Began awkwardly. Shifted out in search of clear running in the early part of the home straight, and bumped TIERES ROCK (Apprentice M. Murphy).

HAMUNAPATRA - Raced keenly in the early stages.

Race 7: The Red Beret BenchMark 55 Handicap - 1250 metres
1st - RISE TO THE TOP 2nd - ARCANUS 3rd - NO BITING 4th - ALEXANDER PARADE

WANTABETHEONE - Fractious in the barriers and then was slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. Over the final stages continuously bumpedwith WICKED THOUGHTS (Jockey S. Wilson). Jockey B. Thomson was fined $300 under A.R. 137A for using her whip on the gelding on 9 occasions prior to the 100 metres.

WICKED THOUGHTS - Shifted in at the start and crowded AVIATOR GIRL (Apprentice R. Payne). Over the final stages continuously bumped with another runner.

ARCANUS - Crowded for room at the start.

PHANTOM SOX - Shifted out at the start and bumped NINETYNINE PERCENT (Jockey K. Stone). Over-raced in the early stages and had to be continually steadied off the heels of runners in front.

Race 8: The Reef Hotel Casino Class 6 Plate - 1250 metres
1st - MAN AROUND TOWN 2nd - HERE TO DASH 3rd - CHINABOB 4th - PINCER STRIKE

NEWSPAPER - Crowded for room shortly after the start. Approaching the 200 metres had to be steadied when disappointed for a run.

LOKUM - Crowded for room soon after the start.

Approaching the turn near the 500 metres HERE TO DASH (Appprentice M. Murphy) had to be checked when racing tight to the inside of FOREST WAY (Jockey P. Cullen), which was directed in marginally by PINCER STRIKE (Apprentice C. Jokic). NEWSPAPER (Apprentice L. Attard), which was following, was severely hampered as a consequence. Apprentice Jokic was reprimanded and told to ensure that she leaves sufficient room for runners to her inside.

ROBBERS ROOST - Shortly after straightening for home shifted out in search of clear running and momentarily hampered SUNSET IN NEW YORK (Jockey F. Edwards).
