RACE 1: NORLIFT QTIS 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 950m
 
WICKED TURN – Slow to begin.
 
BLONDE ELEMENT – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600m commenced to race greenly and had to be steadied when FIRED UP FLYNN, which was hanging in, shifted inwards despite the efforts of its rider, when not quite clear. BLONDE ELEMENT continued to race greenly until straightening.
 
FIRED UP FLYNN – Approaching the 600m was inclined to lay in and shifted inwards, despite the efforts of Jockey N. Yadi, when not quite clear of BLONDE ELEMENT. Jockey Yadi was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
FEMALE OFFICER – Wide in the early and middle stages.
 
INSTANT LUTE – Was inclined to hang in down the running.
 
RACE 2: NIESAR PAINTING RATINGS BAND 0-50 HANDICAP 950m
 
CASHED UP BULLY – Slow to begin.
 
GENERAL SIDERUS – Slow to begin.
 
ROSE OF KALLONI – Shifted inwards near the 500m and inconvenienced SIR ROLAND when not quite clear. Jockey S. Kaya was severely reprimanded.
 
SIR ROLAND – Steadied momentarily near the 500m to avoid the heels of ROSE OF KALLONI which had shifted inwards.
 
RACE 3: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES CLASS 6 PLATE 950m
 
STRICTLY MAGIC – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
NEED FINANCE – Shifted outwards abruptly at the start and lost ground.
 
TESTATIME – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
RACE 4: BLACK IVY BOUTIQUE CLASS 3 PLATE 1250m
 
MUST BE OBEYED – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
THE BEE’S KNEES – Approaching the 1000m threw its head in the air and raced ungenerously till the 700m while racing tight with another runner.
 
FLINCH – Hung in near the 900m and raced tight with another runner, bumping on several occasions. Jockey J. Lambie was advised to exercise more care and allow sufficient room in similar circumstances.
 
RACE 5: BUGEJA EARTHMOVING BM 55 HANDICAP 1500m
 
NADEEM ESPRIT – Was declared a late scratching at 3.24pm under veterinary advice when found to be lame in the off fore leg. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on NADEEM ESPRIT be refunded in full and that all successful wagers prior to 3.24pm be subject to the deductions of 19c Win and 20c Place on the face value of the ticket. Trainer T. Rowe was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare’s next start.
 
PURRFECT TYCOON – Slow to begin.
 
I AM BRUSE – Steadied near the 400m when awkwardly placed onto the heels of another runner and shifted outwards.
 
Gareth Horner, the trainer of PINK STILLETO, was fined the sum of $100 under AR140B(2) for the late declaration of Bar Plates to the mares gear.
