RACE 1: CARLTON MID QTIS THREE YEARS OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 950M

As App A Thomson was late arriving on course due transport difficulties, she was replaced by senior M Kai as the rider of INSTANT LUTE when no other rider was available.

OUR ATOM – Rider W D’Avila reported on returning to scale that the colt raced greenly throughout the event.

ALPHORN – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FEMALE OFFICER – Slow to begin.

MISPRINT – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FIRED UP FLYNN – Rider N Yadi, was cautioned over the use of his whip near the 200m.

FOXY FELINE – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.

RACE 2: EDMONTON PLUMBING MAIDEN HANDICAP 1250m

LIBERO – As no other rider was available Stewards permitted F Edwards to ride the mare 1 kilogram over its allotted weight.

KISEKI – Slow to begin. Made the 800m crossing awkwardly. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer M Jokic was advised the gelding’s nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until such time its form improves by way of country meetings.

LOVE ME RUBY – Slow to begin. Jockey S Wilson was fined the sum of $300 for excessive whip use prior to the 100m.

WATCH ME DAZZLE EM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

GREEK ROSE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

AHERN – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.

MISS CELITA – Raced ungenerously in the early stages of the race.


RACE 3: EVERYTHING AUTOMOTVE OPEN HANDICAP 1400m

HOW CAN I HELP – At the request of connections, was examined by the veterinary surgeon prior to the start and was cleared to race. Hung out near the 1000m having to be steadied from heels. Checked near the 150m when inclined to hang in and being disappointed for a run.

HOT SAGA – Slow to begin. Hung in despite the efforts of its rider near the 150m inconveniencing another runner.

STABLE SURPRIZE – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.

RACE 4: JACK WILSON MEMORIAL CLASS 6 HANDICAP 950m

MAGNORMOUS – Shifted in near the 500m crowding runners to its inside and when being corrected shifted out crowding runners to its outside. Checked near 180m to avoid the heels of another runner which shifted out.

KIRABO – Momentarily crowded for room near the 500m. `

LUSHAN – Crowded for room near the 500m and again near the 300m. Checked near the 180m when tightened for room.

STRICTLY MAGIC – App. A Thomson pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137(a) in that near the 180m she permitted her mount to shift out under pressure when not sufficiently clear of MAGNORMOUS (N Yadi) which had to be checked and shift out tightening the running of LUSHAN (W D’Avila) which also had to be checked. In this incident, Stewards did note a minor shift inwards from CRAIGLEA ALDI (M Kai) at that point of the race. App. Thomson’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days to commence at midnight 2/12/2017 and to expire midnight 14/12/2017


RACE 5: TRAFFIC SERVICES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1500m

JIMMY HOFFA – Slow to begin. Shifted wider leaving the 800m to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.

RACE 6: BILLY COOK MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1250m

Stewards ordered the withdrawal of RYLEE’S SAGA at 12.20pm due to no rider being available.

GRAVETTIAN – Slow to begin. Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 200m forcing other runners wider. Rider J Stanley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

THE BEES KNESS – Raced wide in the early stages of the race. Forced wider near the 200m by another runner which shifted out.

SNAKE FARLEY – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the race.

BEACH HEAD – Forced wider near the 200m by another runner which shifted out.

BE WHY OH – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Forced wider near the 200m by another runner which shifted out.

AESOP – Had to steadied off heels near the 150m.
