Race 1: LOOKSMART ALTERATIONS QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

GOSSIPING GIRL – Jumped inwards at the start. When asked to explain the filly’s performance rider A. Sewell stated it failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and he was of the opinion that it may have come to end of its preparation. Trainer G. Holt agreed with the riders assessment and it would now be her intention the filly be sent for an immediate spell.

THE DELINQUENT – Turned its head to the off side as the start was effected and lost ground.

BOOMED – After being slow to begin was then hampered slightly by SHE’S ATOP PORSCHE which jumped outwards. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

Race 2: SMITHY'S NQ ELECTRICAL CLASS 3 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres

PONDEROSO – Was declared a late scratching at 11.32am by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice.

RICH PRINCESS – Made contact with the running rail during in the preliminary, underwent a veterinary examination after arriving at the barriers and was cleared to start.

MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC – Began awkwardly.

MORE THAN GOOD – Slow to begin.

MOSS THE BOSS – Rider G. Kliese was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres which is one more than permitted.

Race 3: FGF BITUMEN QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP – 950 Metres

COURTING SARA – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s barrier manners. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

CLEVER HUNTER – Slow to begin. Hampered near the 200 metres.

ALI'S JAB – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.

FORGOTTEN BOW – Slow to begin. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight, shifted in leaving the 200 metres hampering CLEVER HONEY.

ROSE OF ATHENS – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 4: MARK DODGE MOTORING MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres

NORAH – Hampered shortly after the start.

ARTIMO – Laid out in the home straight and shifted out near the 100 metres hampering RUN RAMPANT which in turn shifted out inconveniencing ALL BAR SURAH. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

RUN RAMPANT – Forced wider leaving the 100 metres inconveniencing ALL BAR SURAH.

TICKET TO INDIA – Finished tailed off and eased down. Rider C. Jokic advised stewards the gelding felt very awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer R. Tapiolas was advised he must furnish the results of blood tests and an endoscopic examination. The gelding must also trial to the stewards satisfaction prior to being permitted to race again.

ALL BAR SURAH – Began awkwardly. Laid out when racing greenly shortly after the start hampering NORAH which in turn shifted out inconveniencing MISS STARLIGHT. Inconvenienced near the 100 metres and shifted out.

DREAMING HIGH – Tightened for room shortly after the start and was steadied. Rider K. Swaffer advised stewards the gelding felt awkward in action. Trainer B. Williams advised subsequently after the race the gelding was lame in the off fore leg. Mr Williams was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the gelding being permitted to race or trial again.

MISS STARLIGHT – Inconvenienced shortly after the start and lost ground.

SWEET WILL GO – Began awkwardly. Rider W. D’Avila dropped his whip near the 300 metres.

Race 5: PHOENIX CONTRACTING QLD CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

The barriers opened prematurely causing a false start. All runners were restrained after a short distance and returned to the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. The barriers were tested prior to the horses being reloaded.

FLUTTERING – Shifted very wide rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

RIGEL – Brushed near the 200 metres and then commenced to lay out for short distance before being corrected.

SAPPHIRE WINGS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SCARAMOUCHE – Laid out under pressure leaving the 200 metres brushing RIGEL.

FINE ELSEWHERE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

BULLET LAD – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 6: NULEAF BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

SHUNTER – Slow to begin.

LUSHAN – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

HIGHER REALM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

MODERNISM – Slow to begin. Was unable to obtain clear running for the majority of the home straight.

Race 7: BKN BATTERY SPECIALTIES RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

EUCHARIST – Made contact with the running rail during in the preliminary, underwent a veterinary examination after arriving at the barriers and was cleared to start.

FIRST SLIP – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

FUTURE DREAMS – Slow to begin.

OCTOBER STORM – Shifted out shortly after the start placing HIGH DIVE in restricted room.

HIGH DIVE – Raced in restricted room for a short distance after the start.

CLOUT – Rider E. Cass was fined the sum of $300 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip[ on six occasions prior to the 100 metres which is one more than permitted. This was Ms Cass’s fifth breach of this rule.

MISS POWDER KEG – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

FLIRTY MCCOY – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
