KOPANGI (NZ) – Stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. Trainer R. Chillemi was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. ARTIE'S LAD – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.FIVE BULLS – Slow to begin. WHEY MISCHIEF – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. GET ON THE GAS – Raced wide for the majority. THUMANI – Raced wide for the majority. NEVETON – Raced wide for the majority.Track was downgraded to a soft (6) following the running of this race. Race 2: LEXUS MELBOURNE CUP TOUR CAIRNS AMATEURS LIFE MEMBERS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 950M The start of this race was delayed to power outages on course. HARCASION – Delayed the start further when broke through the front of the barriers prior to the start and was declared a late scratching at 1.02pm on veterinary advice.Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1:44pm. 0 x cents in the dollar for the win SPONTANEOUS CHOICE 3 x cents in the dollar for the place of winner SPONTANEOUS CHOICE3 x cents in the dollar for 2nd place SHERE KHAN 3 x cents in the dollar for 3rd place JAAKUNA Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to trialing, as well as the gelding being required to trial and obtain two consecutive barrier certificates prior to the horse racing again. SPONTANEOUS CHOICE – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: UNDERWOOD PARTY HIRE MAIDEN HANDICAP 1250M HELLO NEWMAN – Bounded in the air on jumping becoming unbalanced and lost ground. SUPER TWENTY THREE – Shifted in at the start bumping VALENCONI. Over-raced in the early stages. VALENCONI – Bumped on jumping and shifted in bumping SIRENE ROUGE. SIRENE ROUGE – Began awkwardly and was bumped on jumping. RIDEAU – Over-raced in the early stages. Race 4: CAIRNS KEY REAL ESTATE CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1400M CASTILE – Shifted in at the start bumping LADY RAIN. Shifted out under pressure approaching the winning post placing ZOUHOPE in restricted room. Jockey R. Wiggins was advised to show greater care when shifting ground. LADY RAIN – Bumped on jumping and shifted in bumping CAPITAL GIRL. BARMERA – Shifted out at the start tightening runners to its outside. Raced fiercely in the early stages and was checked near the 1000 metres as a result. Continued to over-race in the middle stages. SILLMAN – Tightened for room on jumping. KOONUNGA HILL – Shifted in at the start tightening runners to its inside. Bumped approaching the 100 metres. MIRROR ILLUSION – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Shifted in under pressure approaching the 100 metres bumping REVELLERS. CAPITAL GIRL – Bumped on jumping. ZOUHOPE – Raced in restricted room approaching the winning post. REVELLERS – Bumped approaching the 100 metres and shifted in bumping KOONUNGA HILL. KOHEETO – Over-raced in the middle stages. TOSCAVALE ROAD – A post-race veterinary examination of TOSCAVALE ROAD identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. TOSCAVALE ROAD shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(4)Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1500M HEALING GAME –Raced fiercely in the early stages and was checked near the 1000 metres as a result. Continued to over-race in the middle stages. VIENNA RAIN – Over-raced in the middle stages. GULF OF LION – Over-raced in the middle stages. Trainer T. Rowe advised stewards considering today’s run it is his intention that the gelding be sent for an immediate spell. INDICTMENT – Jockey J. Murphy advised stewards on returning to scale the gelding was obliged to race three wide without cover and as a result had a tendency to hang out. Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO OPEN HANDICAP 950M JOHN BOOKE – Slow to begin. RUBY JULY – Slow to begin. SILENT EXPLORER – Slow to begin. Bumped soon after the start. BONES – Shifted in soon after the start bumping MACEDON FLYER and was momentarily unbalanced. MACEDON FLYER – Bumped soon after the start and shifted in bumping SILENT EXPLORER. DESERT COWBOY – Raced wide rounding the home turn. MY BEST EFFORT – Raced wide rounding the home turn. DESERT COWBOY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery. Connections were advised they must provide a veterinary clearance prior to its next trial or race start. Race 7: PATRON'S CUP BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1250M NEVER CRY – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at barriers after making contact with the enclosure gate on entering the course proper and was cleared to start. SANTA MARINELLA – Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at barriers and was cleared to start. TYCOON BEAU – Slow to begin. BIG FLASH – Slow to begin.
