Following the running of race six, Stewards inquired into an incident that occurred between Mr T. Webb (the judge) and Mr L. Webb, resulting in Mr Webb making contact with the ground. Mr Clifford was subsequently fined $300.

A further charge of improper conduct was issued against Mr T. Webb under AR.175(q) in that following the running of race one, when engaged in the capacity of  an official namely the judge, did improperly conduct himself when his actions led to a verbal and physical altercation with Mr L. The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the connections of the fourth place getter ZOE IS THE BEST lodged a protest against the third place getter WRITTEN GUARENTEE alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the available patrol footage, it was established that although WRITTEN GUARENTEE did shift out dictating the line of ZOE IS THE BEST, sole blame for the shift could not be contributed to the runner as its line was too being dictated by pressure from runners to its inside. On these grounds, Stewards dismissed the protest declaring correct weight on the judges semaphored placings.
