GENERAL

As A. Taylor was injured, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. A. Taylor will require a medical clearance before riding again.

Race 1: CROWE HORWATH STAYERS CUP 0-62 H'CAP – 2000M

QUALITY MAN – J. Oliver was fined $100 for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

EIGHT CHANCE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

COOL DAYS – Held up from the 400m until the early stages of the home straight.

COUNT ROMANO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

ALL IN TIME – Steadied to avoid heels near the 400m and then held up for the majority of the home straight and went to the line without being tested.

THERE'S NEMO – Raced wide from the 800m.

Race 2: QUEENSLAND COTTON QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

BENEVOLENT – Laid out rounding the home turn.

ORCHARD – Slow to begin. Steadied to avoid heels near the 800m. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Bumped near the 200m.

SPORTSTAR SAMUEL – Slow to begin. Bumped near the 200m.

RED WAYNE – Overraced in the middle stages.

TRUST MISTY – On return to scale S. Bogenhuber reported that her mount raced greenly throughout the event and raced wide on the turns.

Race 3: VISION LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT LIGHTNING OPEN H'CAP – 800M

SQUEEMI – Began awkwardly on jumping away, resulting in the rider losing her offside stirrup and placing her at a significant disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

VORTUKA – Bumped heavily with another runner at the start.

SHADOW TALES – Bumped heavily with another runner at the start.

HIZOU – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 4: METRO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M

DOLROSSA – Fractious on entering the mounting yard, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin. Performed uncompetitively throughout the event. Trainer M. Smith was advised that the horse must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to its next race start.

POETIC DRAGON – Laid out rounding the home turn.

SEQUOIA MISS – Slow to begin.

DR DEEJAY – Commenced to overrace for some distance after being crossed by another runner in the early stages.

PICK OF THE PUBS – Taken wider on the track by another runner shortly after the start. Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.

GO WEST TO COSTA – Raced wide from the 800m.

Race 5: GLORIA HOSKIN MEMORIAL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1000M

The start of this race was delayed when LIBERTY CHARGING, PENHALE PRIDE, IMPUESTO and HENZELL proved reluctant to proceed to the start.

WHYNOTROC – Raced wide throughout.

TEMUJIN KHAN – Slow to begin.

HENZELL – Slow to begin. Raced uncompetitively throughout the event. Trainer G. Arnold advised stewards that the horse would now leave his stable, but nonetheless he was advised that the horse would be required to barrier trial should it race again.

HUSSON'S GIRL – Slow to begin.

STAR STRIDER – J. Oliver was fined $100 for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

BRAZEN JAKE – Raced wide throughout.

IMPUESTO – Bumped heavily at the start.

Race 6: WILD RIVER DALBY NEWMARKET OPEN H'CAP – 1200M

On return to scale, L. McCoy, rider of WRITTENINTHERAIN, lodged an objection against CHARGE MISSILE being declared the winner, alleging interference at the start. After viewing the videos and taking evidence from all parties, it was established that WRITTENINTHERAIN sustained interference at the start and lost ground, however stewards were of the view that the interference could not be attributed to CHARGE MISSILE as that runner also suffered interference and was dictated outwards at the start by other runners and therefore dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the Judge's placings.

JUST A PERLA – Blundered on jumping away. Stewards questioned D. McMaster in relation to the horse's disappointing performance. Jockey McMaster advised that after beginning awkwardly the horse never travelled throughout the event and when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. As trainer J. Bannon was absent from today's meeting he will be interviewed at a later date in relation to the performance.

HEROIC ACTION – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. G. Geran was reprimanded for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.

DOCTOR DAVID – Steadied from the heels of another runner over the concluding stages of the event.

WRITTENINTHERAIN – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.

CHARGE MISSILE – Overraced in the middle stages. Apprentice B. Derbyshire was reprimanded for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.

SMOOTH TALKER – Tightened for room at the start.

CHARGE MISSILE – Tightened for room at the start.

STORM CRAZY - Tightened for room at the start.




Race 7: DALBY ICE SALES BM65 H'CAP – 1300M

Trainer T. Dougall was fined $100 for the late declaration of T Brooker as the rider of ALL IN ALL.

CHAMPAGNE TALES – Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.

BREATH OF LIFE – Slow to begin and lost considerable ground. Stewards placed a warning on the horse's barrier manners.

FILLE ARDENTE – Laid out rounding the home turn.

NADOR – Raced wide throughout.

NAUTICAL LAD – Bradley Appo was fined $100 for the use of the whip on a horse out of contention.
