QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DALBY & NORTHERN DOWNS JOCKEY CLUB SATURDAY 25 NOVEMBER 2017 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 3 RAIL – +2M 600M – 400M, True remainder OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – E. BarronStewards – B. Cooke, T. ReedClerk of Scales – T. ReedJudge – J. MoodyVeterinarian – K. TraceSwab Attendants – A. Jones Starter – I. Henderson General: Bradley Appo was unable to attend at the race meeting due to personal reasons, rider replacements were made as per the steward race day summary. As app N. Keal had engagements to ride at Toowoomba and was unable to fulfil engagements in race 4 and 5 and subsequently had to be replaced, as per the steward race day summary. Race 1: D&NDJC COMMUNITY RACE MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M Apprentice H. English replaced A. Denby as she was not able to attend today’s meeting. Stewards accepted the explanation tended by jockey A. Denby and trainer K. Monckton in regards to fulfilling her engagements on CORINDI LASS. Stewards reminded trainer L. Hatch of his obligations to declare riders App. B. Nothdurft (NIAGARA PRINCE) and L. Tilley(RUBY RED SHOES) by the prescribed time. After declaration of correct weight it was established that Apprentice B. Nothdurft claimed an allowance greater than which he was entitled to. Acting under AR. 92(11) stewards disqualified NIAGARA PRINCE. In a subsequent inquiry stewards fined apprentice B. Nothdurft $300. RUMBA LAARA – Fractious in the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost ground. TOROKINA – Made contact with the rail near the 400m. BONDI BATTLE – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in abruptly over the concluding stages. BUBBA ROCKER – Shifted out on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Race 2: NEED A WASH DALBY & CHINCHILLA CLASS B HANDICAP– 1000M NOTHIN’ ZAPPENIN’ - Shifted out under pressure and bumped CHURCHILL DAWN near the 200m. CHURCHILL DAWN – Laid in under pressure over the final stages. WILD BOYS – Had to be steadied when tightened for room near the 300m. HARVEY DENT – Tightened for room near the 300m. REINA DE HIELO – Began awkwardly shifted out and made heavy contact with LAST ROUND which lost ground as a result. KINGSMITH FLYER – Raced wide throughout. MOUNTAIN RETREAT – Raced wide throughout. GIRLSGOGIDDYUP – Post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. ARTFUL SONG – Trainer advised that the instructions were to try to obtain a position near the lead. Settled at the rear of the field. Disappointed for a run for a majority of the straight. Race 3: DALBY ENGINE REBUILDERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP– 1200M KAVALONG – Bled from both nostrils during the event, for the first time. Stewards advised Trainer P. Sexton, that the gelding will be ineligible to race for three months and prior to racing again must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward. LIMBO STAR – Made the home turn wide. QUATTRO FANTASICO – Taken wider rounding for the home turn. NOOR DROPPER - Taken wider rounding for the home turn. INFINITE SUCCESS – Raced wide throughout. Race 4: 2017 DALBY RUGBY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS OPEN HANDICAP– 1200M ZIP TO THE MOON – Began awkwardly and lost ground. TIN’S POCKET – Put head down as the start was affected almost dislodging its rider as a result lost significant ground. SUN WILL SHINE – Raced keenly in the early stages. MARKSFIELD – Raced wide. Made the home turn wide. Race 5: BURROWS MECHANICAL & HIRE BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP- 1400M Start of the race was delayed when apprentice H. Phillips required medical attention after her mount struck her in the head whilst attempting to mount. QAS cleared App. H. Phillips to part take in her riding engagement.
