Race 1: Support Women’s Cancer Foundation QTIS 2YO H'Cap - 1350m

GRACEFULLY CHIC became loose in the enclosure, was quickly recaptured, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.

ITZ ALRITE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for clear running in the home straight until approaching the 200m. Bumped inside the 200m.

BUTTER TOAST – Proved difficult to load. Trainer B. Currie will be advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners. Had to be checked approaching the 200m.

AIRLIE REWARD – Checked near the 1100m.

STRYKING STUNNAH – Inside the 200m shifted in and bumped another runner. Raced wide without cover throughout.

MISHANI SLEUTH - Hung in under pressure near the 200m causing tightening to runners to her inside.

App L. Dittman the rider of ROYAL TITHE was severely reprimanded for attempting to improve between runners where there was insufficient room approaching the 200m.
B. Stewart the rider of MONEY TALK was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that after leaving the 1200m he allowed his mount to shift in when not fully clear of another runner, which had to be checked. B. Stewart’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence midnight 20 February 2016 and expire midnight 29 February 2016.

App E. Ljung the rider of MISHANI SLEUTH was dislodged on return to the enclosure and subsequently stood down by the Club’s Doctor for the remainder of the event. App Ljung was replaced as per the Stewards Race Day Summary and transported to hospital for observation.

B. Stewart the rider of MONEY TALK was fined $400.00 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.

Race 2: Body Smart Exercise Physiology BenchMark 75 H’Cap - 2200m

DANISH HOMBRE – Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 1600m had to be steadied away from heels.

METEOROLOGIST – Slow to begin.

VODNIK – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn.

JUSTTHEWAYYOUARE – Near the 2100m shifted out abruptly resulting in a number of runners having to be checked.

MISS DEL TORO – Hampered near the 2100m.

WIMPOLE STREET – Checked near the 2100m. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

OUTRAGED – Checked near the 2100m.

COUNT ROMANO – Hampered near the 2100m. Held up for clear running near the 250m.

KAISER FRANZ – Near the 1800m commenced to race ungenerously. Near the winning post on the first occasion shifted out abruptly when being restrained. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 3: #GETREALSUPPORTTEAL Class 6 H’Cap - 1600m

Trainer C. Munce was fined $200.00 for failing to declare M. Cahill as the rider of MESTALLA by the prescribed time.

The start of the race was significantly delayed when GOLD HORIZON worked strongly in the preliminary after taking charge of its rider. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon GOLD HORIZON was declared a late scratching at 1.42 p.m. All monies invested on GOLD HORIZON were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1.42 p.m.:-

11 cents in the dollar for the win - #7 (HEART OF A WARRIOR)
9 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #7 (HEART OF A WARRIOR)
12 cents in the dollar for 2nd place- #4 (WALHAAN)
9 cents in the dollar for 3rd place - #5 (LA SPIAGGIA)

HOW CAN I HELP – Slow to begin.

FIFTEEN LOVE – Hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room.
RED CLAW – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

As jockey G. Colless was stood down by the Club’s Doctor following this event stewards permitted rider replacements as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3.

Race 4: Happy 50th Paulie McClure Fillies & Mares Class 6 H'Cap - 1200m

SHIRAZ ATTACK – Slow to begin.

ADORABUBBLE – Taken in onto another runner near the 800m.

ASSERTORY – Checked near 800m.

App S. Fawke the rider of DOULA pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in near the 800m resulting in ADORABUBBLE being taken in onto ASSERTORY, which had to be checked. App Fawke’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence midnight 27 February 2016 and expire midnight 7 March 2016.

FLIGHT ACADEMY – Near the 150m had to be checked to avoid the heels of the tiring SHEISWHATSHEIS.

AWASITA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

SHEISWHATSHEIS - A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no significant abnormalities.

Race 5: Dianne Cohen QTIS 3YO H'Cap - 1200m

GEE TWENTY – Slow to begin.

QUICK KETCH – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. When asked to explain the performance of QUICK KETCH App L. Dittman explained that the horse was not suited to racing back in the field when the race developed into a sprint home over the final 600m, although he was slightly disappointed in the manner the horse responded to his pressure in the home straight.

JACK LANCASTER – Bumped on jumping away.

MONACO PLAYBOY – Bumped on jumping away. Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

TAILLEVENT – Had to steady to avoid heels near the 800m. Jockey J. Byrne (QUATRONIC) was advised to exercise more care in future when steadying the pace.
FIERY HEIGHTS – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale his mount raced fiercely in the early stages.

Race 6: Turn The Tide On Ovarian Cancer NMW H'Cap - 1350m

Trainer D. Duryea was fined $200.00 for failing to declare a rider for LITTLE WHITE by the prescribed time.
BINALONG ROAD – Slow to begin.

BULLITT COUNTY – Slow to begin.

DEITCH – Slow to begin.

RIDEONABIGJETPLANE – Slow to begin.

IT’S A THRILLA – Tightened for room between runners near the 500m.

LITTLE WHITE – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.

SANKARA SPIRIT – Near the 300m attempted to improve but was prevented from doing so when another runner shifted in and made contact. Then obliged to check and alter course to obtain clear running.

ENDLESS PUZZLE – Shifted in and bumped another runner near the 300m.

PANTALETTES – Raced wide throughout.

PERFECT KNOWLEDGE – Raced wide throughout.

BERNITCHY – Raced wide without cover throughout.

MARSHAL – Trainer M. Leitch reported the gelding lost its near fore plate in running. Ms Leitch advised she would now give the gelding a short let up from racing.

Race 7: GPK – Your Technology Partner Open H’Cap - 1350m

JUST A PERLA took charge of its rider during the preliminary and was declared a late scratching at 4.14 p.m. by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice. All monies invested on JUST A PERLA were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 4.14 p.m.:-

12 cents in the dollar for the win - #3 (PILLAR OF CREATION)
10 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #3 (PILLAR OF CREATION)
14 cents in the dollar for 2nd place- #11 (NOOGOORA BURR)
11 cents in the dollar for 3rd place - #1 (JOPA)

FINISHING CARD – Slow to begin.

LAUTERBRUNNEN – When questioned jockey J. Orman stated that the gelding travelled well in the early stages and only responded fairly to his riding in the straight.
Race 8: Women’s Cancer Foundation Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 6 H'Cap – 1200m

SCENIC ROAD – Trainer T. Sears advised that from the wide barrier they would try to settle the horse in a midfield position with cover if circumstances permit. The gelding settled midfield and raced wide without cover.

DANTGA – Approaching the 900m was bumped by another runner. Then commenced to overrace and had to be restrained from heels near the 700m. Jockey M. Bennett reported that the gelding did not respond to his riding in the straight and was most disappointing.

CHARIOT OF GOLD – Approaching the winning post the gelding was accidentally struck over the head by the whip of M. Cahill (DESERT GENERAL).

LAST SIGHT – Raced wide without cover throughout.

BEAU JET – Raced wide without cover throughout.

KRAFTWERK - Lost a near hind plate in running.

LAST SIGHT – Trainer L. Hatch was reprimanded for leaving the course within the permitted ½ hour of the race, which resulted in the horse not being vetted. Mr Hatch undertook to have a full veterinary examination of the horse in the coming days and will notify stewards of any findings.
