GRAND FRENZY – Upon arrival at the track, the mare was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

MISTER MANDELLA – Raced 3 wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to be positioned outside the leader near the 400m.

BIGMORDRIVE – Jockey L. Londregan reported at scale that his mount hung out when placed under pressure from the 600m. Jockey Londregan was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

MCGILL – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale his mount hung in under pressure over the final 600m, and shifted in and bumped HOAGY rounding the home turn.

HOAGY – Bumped by another runner rounding the home turn.

MAKINGLUV – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Byrne advised that the horse was under pressure from the 1000m and failed to respond to his riding from that point and was disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 2: Sky Thoroughbred Central F&M H'cap – 1350m

SPANISH EYES – Reared at the start and lost ground.

HELL OF A QUEST – Slow to begin.

SKYLAR’S STAR – Jockey S. Drake dropped her whip near the 150m.

Race 3: Mount Franklin CG&E Maiden H'cap – 1350m

SKY HEART – Change of tactics. Connections advised the horse would be ridden off speed with cover. The horse was ridden accordingly. Overraced in the early stages.

DANE JESTER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Slow to begin. Passing the 200m had to be steadied from the heels of SKY HEART and altered course to the inside of that runner in order to improve.

PERZERO – Shifted in passing the 300m and became awkward at heels for a short distance.

Race 4: Hamilton Hotel QTIS 2-yo Maiden Plate - 1110m

GESSNER – Jockey D. Browne reported at scale that his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure in the home straight did not respond to his riding, which he attributed to today’s heavy conditions.

ANOTHER SLIPPER – When asked to explain the performance of the horse, jockey J. Byrne was of the view his mount did not handle today’s heavy track conditions.

Race 5: Canadian Club Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap – 1050m

TUNED IN – Due to G. Colless being overweight and no suitable rider being available, stewards approved apprentice B. Grylls as the replacement rider. G. Colless was fined $200m.

HIGH COST – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Race 6: Racezone National Apprentices Series Class 3 Plate – 1350m

SHOW DAY – Apprentice C. Schmidt was fined $400 for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
Race 8: W WW. BRC. COM.AU Class 4 H'cap – 1200m

Correct weight was delayed to allow jockey T. Harrison and trainer Mrs H. Page to view the video footage of the start to ascertain whether PANTHERESS was afforded a fair start. After viewing the film, both parties did not wish to proceed as it was evident that the mare reared as the start was effected and lost significant ground. PANTHERESS took no competitive part in the race from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrhythmia, and trainer Mrs H. Page will be advised that she must furnish the results of an ECG on PANTHERESS , and the horse must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.

CWMBRAN – Slow to begin.
