SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Gold Coast 12.3.16 –

Race 3: Trainer T. Gollan reported that MAX IT OUT had pulled up well following the event. Mr Gollan was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance and indicated that he would monitor the horse’s work before making a decision on its immediate racing program.

Race 6: Trainer C. Munce noted that FAICONI had cast the near fore plate and in doing so had removed some of the hoof wall, which he attributed to its disappointing performance.

Race 7: B. Stewart, the rider of LE VAL, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he used the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m. B. Stewart’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 week, to be served concurrently with the penalty imposed at the Toowoomba meeting, commencing at midnight on Saturday 19 March and expiring at midnight on Saturday 26 March 2016.

Race 1: SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

GREY GLITTER – After getting its near hind leg up on the barrier platform, the horse was removed, inspected by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Held up in the early stages of the straight.

MIA MAGIC – Bumped on jumping. Apprentice M. McGillivray reported that his mount hung out in the straight.

SHEZ EKTRAORDINARY – Slow to begin.

STAGE DANCER – Dislodged its tongue tie in the barriers and the horse raced without this gear.

THAT’S ENOUGH – Knuckled on jumping and then shifted in, making contact with another runner.

TREASURE ISLAND – Slow to begin.


Race 2: SUPER HERO RACEDAY C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

LORD WIVENHOE – Trainer J. Curtain was advised that due to the horse’s action in front its nomination would be refused in the immediate future. Mr Curtain indicated that the gelding would be sent for a spell and he would consult with the owners regarding the horse’s racing future. Mr Curtain was also advised that in light of a post-race veterinary examination which revealed lameness in the near foreleg, he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance prior to the horse racing again.

MILK ‘N’ BRANDY – Raced wide without cover.

MAJOR APPROVAL – Had to steady away from heels near the 1100m. D. Griffin, the rider of ROCKY EXPECTATIONS, was advised to provide sufficient clearance when shifting ground. Shifted in under pressure near the 200m.


Race 3: RACEZONE QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1050M

ENDLESS DAYS – Jumped awkwardly and then bumped by another runner.

YOU’RE SO VAIN – Held up rounding the home turn. Shifted in near the 100m and bumped another runner.

BRINGIT – Became unbalanced after being bumped near the 500m. Bumped near the 400m.

CAPTAIN DODGE – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Shifted in slightly approaching the 100m, tightening runners to his inside.

MASTER MAGIC AL – Bumped near the 100m.

SANDY STRAITS – Shifted away from another runner near the 500m and made contact with BRINGIT. Shifted in near the 400m and bumped BRINGIT. Apprentice M. McGillivray, the rider of CAPTAIN DODGE, was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise far more care in future and allow sufficient racing room to runners to his inside.


Race 4: UBET BTC CUP DAY BM75 H’CAP – 1650M

FAST ARROW – Hampered when tightened for room shortly after the start. A. Taylor accidentally dropped her whip near the 250m.

FUERZA – Hampered when tightened for room shortly after the start. After leaving the 200m had to alter course to obtain clear running.

NEUSCHWANSTEIN – Inclined to hang out throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

GOTTA ZIP – Pulled hard in the middle stages, was allowed to stride forward and took up a position outside the leader near the 800m.

Race 5: HARDY BROTHERS DOOMBEN CUP DAY F&M CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1110M

MYDALEA – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.

DIVINE CENTURI – Raced wide throughout.

DANGLISSA GIRL – J. Byrne reported at scale that his mount compounded quickly in the straight when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the filly had a slow recovery rate.

RULING MISS – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Race 6: JAMES BOAGS DOOMBEN 10,000 C,G&E CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1110M

Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was fined $100 for the late declaration of A. Spinks as the rider of YAHUSHA.

FALCHION – The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding had sustained a small laceration to the off hind leg consistent with being galloped on.

OL’ BROWN EYES – Tightened for room when attempting to improve between runners near the 300m.

LISTANERA – Raced wide without cover.

BOLD APPROACH – Raced wide without cover.

Race 7: TREASURY CASINO OAKS DAY CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1200M

Trainer Bradley Smith was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Oliver as the rider of SUIT.

SUIT – Raced wide without cover.

APPLE THIEF – Apprentice S. Eilbeck reported at scale that her mount overraced when the pace steadied near the 900m.

LUCKY LUCRE – Slow to begin.

OFFENSIVE PLAY – Shortly after the start attempted to buck for a short distance.

JOINT INITIATIVE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have cardiac arrhythmia. Connections advised that the horse would now be retired.

Race 8: AAMI STRADBROKE DAY RATINGS BAND 0-75 H’CAP – 1350M

GID UP STROP – Connections advised that from the inside barrier the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

SUBSTATION – Raced wide without cover.

FRIENDLY DRAGON – Connections advised that from the wide barrier the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.

SILENT DUKE – Slow to begin.
