Race 1: COCA COLA MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M

The start of this race was delayed when MEWSTONE ROCK became fractious in the barriers, was removed, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race. Trainer J. Symons was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.

KAPSTAR – Raced three wide without cover.

MEDIEVAL – Raced four wide throughout without cover.

FLINCH – Slow to begin.

THE DOORMAN – Bumped with another runner at the start.

THE PERPETRATOR – Bumped with another runner at the start. Brushed by another runner near the 500m. Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn and proved difficult to ride.

 
Race 2: BRISBANE RACING CLUB WEDDINGS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1650M

The start of this race was delayed after it was noticed by the starter that there were insufficient gates available to load the full field. As a result, the horses already loaded had to be removed from the barriers and moved in one stall.

DRUMMER’S CHOICE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Near the 500m had to be checked from the heels of VITERVO STAR when that runner hung out abruptly.

FASSLER – Trainer B. Andrew was fined $100 for the late declaration of apprentice B. Derbyshire as the rider of this runner and ROXY RHYTHM in Race 8.

NO ALIBI NEEDED – Jumped away awkwardly. Passing the 600m inconvenienced by VITERVO STAR when that runner was hanging out.

VITERVO STAR – Commenced to hang out from the 800m and from the 600m hung out severely and bumped heavily with the outside fence near the 400m and soon afterwards dislodged jockey J. Taylor. Trainer E. Ensby was advised that the horse must compete satisfactorily in two official trials prior to being permitted to race again. Following the event J. Taylor was examined by the Club doctor and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagement.

DIAMOND ON COMMAND – Shifted in and brushed the running rail passing the 900m.

Race 3: AAMI STRADBROKE DAY 11TH JUNE CLASS 6 PLATE – 1650M

GLENDARA – After being a little slow to begin was severely hampered when tightened for room when BUCKIN THE BLUES jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. D. Browne reported at scale that it was his intention to settle further forward on the gelding, but after meeting with interference at the start, it resulted in him settling in the second half of the field.

BRAZEN MOSS – Had to be restrained and checked to avoid the heels of CANONGATE, which shifted in near the 1300m when not clear. A charge of careless riding was issued against A. Spinks, the rider of CANONGATE, however, after hearing submissions from jockey Spinks and taking into account that LANDALE was racing off the fence and that BRAZEN MOSS was overracing at that stage, stewards withdrew the charge but nonetheless advised jockey Spinks to ensure he provides greater room when shifting ground in future.

BUCKIN THE BLUES – Trailed the field throughout the event and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer K. Hickmott was advised that the horse would be ineligible for nomination at metropolitan meetings until such time as its provincial form improves. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the back of the off fore fetlock.

CASINO EXPRESS – Had to be restrained from the heels of BRAZEN MOSS near the 1400m.

SNAPCRACKLE – Trainer D. Kelly was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Lloyd as the rider of this runner. Compounded in the straight to be beaten a considerable distance. Trainer D. Kelly indicated that the horse will now be retired.

Race 4: GIDDY UP MEMBERSHIP BENCHMARK 85 H’CAP – 1200M

I AM BOSS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

HOTEL DRIVE – Apprentice M. McGuren was asked to comment on the horse’s performance. He indicated that he was disappointed with the overall performance and was of the view that the horse did not handle the soft racing conditions. He added that the horse was under pressure from the 750m. He further added that following today’s performance, the trainer had indicated that he would consider reapplying the blinkers for its next start.

GOLDEN MINESHAFT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

Race 5: WWW.BRC.COM.AU F&M RATINGS BAND 0-70 H’CAP – 1110M

Apprentice S. Fawke, the rider of HAYITE, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 118C(a) in that he weighed out in a safety vest manipulated to gain an unfair weight advantage and was fined the sum of $500.

HAYITE – Slow to begin.

PANDORA CHARM – Overraced in the early stages.

SMOOTH TRUTH – Difficult to load. Trainer D. Bell was advised that he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for the horse prior to its next start.

Race 6: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB C,G&E RATINGS BAND 0-70 H’CAP – 1110M

ONE INCH PUNCH – Jumped very awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.

IRISH CONSTABULARY – Raced three wide without cover.

MISERY – Apprentice T. Brooker reported at scale that her mount was not comfortable on today’s track conditions. Apprentice Brooker was reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out to the finish of the race.

Race 7: AMGROW LIGHTNING H’CAP – 1050M

INTO THE RED – Raced three wide. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight and unable to improve.

SHAMALIA – Raced four wide without cover.

JENNYFROMTHEBLOCK – Raced three wide without cover. Had to be eased approaching the 50m when tightened for room between GOJO MIMO, which was weakening, and BEAU RADA, which shifted out slightly. C. Symons, the rider of BEAU RADA, was advised in future to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion.

ESPIRITU – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion on the off foreleg.

GLENBAWN DAME – Trainer P. Robl was fined $200 for the late declaration of T. Harrison as the rider of this runner.

HARDLINE – Inconvenienced near the 250m when SHAMALIA shifted out and away from FELINES.

AWASITA – Slow to begin.

Race 8: CANADIAN CLUB F&M CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1350M

LITTLE MISS ROCKER – Had to be checked near the 300m and shift back to the inside of the heels of EVERYBODY HAPPY when that runner shifted out under riding when not clear. Apprentice S. Fawke, the rider of EVERYBODY HAPPY, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) for permitting his mount to shift out at that point. Apprentice Fawke’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 13 days, to commence at midnight on Sunday 12 June and expire at midnight on Saturday 25 June 2016. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that the degree of interference to LITTLE MISS ROCKER was in the mid- range.

VAINACIOUS – Overraced in the early stages. Severely checked near the 300m.

SHE’S WORTHY – Bumped by FORBIDDEN KISSES near the 700m.

WAR BABY – Slow to begin.

CATENACCIO – Slow to begin.

BEST DANCE YET – Raced three wide without cover.

Race 9: MOET & CHANDON CHAIRMAN’S CLUB C,G&E CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1350M

I AM THE SCULPTOR – Raced three wide.

DOMINIO – Slow to begin.

MARTIAL ART – Raced three wide.

MONSTER OF ENERGY – Trainer B. Smith advised that it would be the intention to have the gelding ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly.
