PERFECT PUNCH – Near the 1400m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of another runner. When questioned regarding his tactics jockey J. Taylor stated he had been instructed to race outside the leader however, after beginning awkwardly he attempted to comply with his instructions and after checking his mount near the 1400m he was then caught wide and allowed his mount to stride forward and raced outside the leader as per his instructions. Jockey Taylor added this manoeuvre was made more difficult when the pace increased leaving the 1200m. Jockey Taylor further added he was forced to race wide for some distance in the back straight until he could clear the runners to his inside near the 800m. Jockey Taylor was advised that after suffering interference near the 1400m he should have deviated from his instructions and ridden the horse more conservatively to allow it to finish the race off.

LAUTERBRUNNEN – Near the 1400m shifted in slightly. Jockey J. Byrne reported that his mount hung out throughout the event. Trainer R. Heathcote advised that he would have his veterinary surgeon carry out tests on the gelding tomorrow morning and would report back to stewards of any findings.
