From Eagle Farm, 6.8.16

Stable representative Mr J. Britnell reported that following the disappointing performance of In The Kitty it would now be sent for a spell.

Race 1: Bundaberg Rum F&M H'cap – 1350m

SAGA MISS – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

MY COUSIN MELANIE – Slow to begin.

GOLDEN FUTURE – Slow to begin.

PINOLINO – Held up over the concluding stages.




Race 2: Disco Entertainment CG&E Maiden H'cap – 1350m

DAM BUSTER – Pulled hard in the early stages.

CARTAGENA – Bumped by another runner approaching the 1200m. Raced wide without cover.

DIA DE REYES – Hung out rounding the home turn. Bumped by another runner approaching the winning post.

BIG DEAL – Jockey C. Dell was questioned regarding the reasons his mount shifted out rounding the home turn, which enabled LEDOYEN to obtain a run to his inside. He stated that at its previous start at Eagle Farm, the gelding rolled in making the home turn and as a result he elected to ride with the whip in his right hand to prevent the gelding shifting in, however making the turn the horse shifted outwards.

VISONA PLAYBOY – Jockey R. Wiggins reported that whilst his mount was forced to race 3 wide it travelled comfortably in that position, however did not respond to riding when placed under pressure in the straight.

HIDRIFTER – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained an injury to the heel of the near foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start.

Race 3: Castrol Gold Coast 600 Party Paradise QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1050m

BRILLIANT DIVA – After becoming restless in the stalls was inspected by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with another runner.

SHEAR VOGUE – Bumped on jumping away.

PEGGY LEIGH – Slow to begin. Jockey M. Hellyer reported at scale that his mount raced greenly throughout.

Race 4: Hamo Hotel H Lounge After Party Class 1 H'cap – 1650m

THE OVAL OFFICE – Change of tactics. Connections advised the horse would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. The subsequently raced outside the leader.

HIDDEN GOLD – Slow to begin.

DAME VAN WINKLE – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up rounding the home turn.

AMERICAN DIVA – Jumped away awkwardly.

ALTOVISE – Hung in in the straight.

COMMAND HUNTER – Inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.
Race 5: Smirnoff Class 2 H'cap – 2050m

FAMECHON BARONESS – Slow to begin.

SCOUTABOUT – Pulled hard passing the 1600m and had to be restrained off heels.

HIGH CARINAE – Shifted in when tiring and bumped another runner near the 600m.

COLD BLOODED – Bumped by another runner near the 600m. Briefly tightened for room near the 500m and shifted in, tightening another runner.

OUTSTRIP – Tightened for room near the 500m.

ANSWERED – Jockey J. Byrne was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts right out to the finish line.

MYSTERIUM – When questioned regarding his riding of the horse, jockey B. Stewart stated he had the intention of leading or racing outside the leader, however when the gelding began only fairly he elected to settle his mount in a position close to the rail midfield as he was reluctant to push forward as it has a tendency to overrace. He further added that he attempted to improve his position leaving the 800m, however the gelding only responded fairly and he was disappointed in its efforts in finishing off the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


Race 6: Become A BRC Social Member Class 3 Plate – 1110m

PEPPERANO – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, bumping another runner.

MINIVER – Bumped shortly after the start.

EDGE AWAY – Held up rounding the home turn.

GRACEFULLY CHIC – Held up in the early stages of the home straight and obliged to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running.

FOUR EXCEL – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

SUNSET HILLS – Raced wide throughout.


Race 7: Oh Hello! Class 5 H'cap – 1200m

IT’S A THRILLA – Raced wide without cover throughout.




Race 8: XXXX Summer Class 4 H'cap – 1350m

SILENTO – Slow to begin.

ROXY RHYTHM – Had to be restrained for some distance after being steadied near the 1100m. Held up rounding the home turn and did not obtain clear running in the straight.

MOONLIGHT DANCER – Held up in the early stages of the straight and did not obtain clear running until after leaving the 300m. Jockey J. Byrne, rider of the 5th placegetter, was fined $200 for failing to ride his mount right out to the finish line.

LOCK AND LOAD – Raced wide without cover.

RAFFINATO – Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale his mount was inclined to hang in in the straight.
