Race 1: WWW.BRC.COM.AU F&M MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

JENNIFER JUNIPER – Shifted in approaching the 1000m and bumped with MULTICHOICE on a number of occasions.

TICKLED PINK – Checked near the 800m when tightened for room and had to relinquish its position. Apprentice E. Ljung, the rider of JENNIFER JUNIPER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that near the 800m she permitted her mount to shift in when not clear of TICKLED PINK. Apprentice Ljung’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 20 August and expire at midnight on Sunday 28 August 2016.

WULFIES LADY – Overraced in the early stages.

ZHUKOVA – Raced three wide without cover.

MAGIC MIRANDA – Cast the near hind plate en route to the course, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race. Examined by the veterinary surgeon behind the barriers at the request of the rider and was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.21 p.m. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on MAGIC MIRANDA be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:

1 cent in the dollar for the Win #4
4 cents in the dollar for place of winner #4
6 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2
4 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #5

MULTICHOICE – Bumped with another runner on a number of occasions approaching the 1000m when overracing.

SHEZA YANKEE – Hung out rounding the first turn. Lost the off fore plate in running.

Race 2: MOUNT FRANKLIN C,G&E MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

GOOD CATCH – After jumping awkwardly, soon after the start shifted out.

LAKOUDIS – Raced three wide without cover. Bumped on a number of occasions near the 250m and became unbalanced.

THE OVERDRAFT – Raced three wide throughout.

IGNITE THE LIGHT – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight and when attempting to shift out to improve near the 250m made contact with LAKOUDIS on a number of occasions.

SCHWARZY – Slow to begin.

GREAT EAGLE – Tightened for room between THE OVERDRAFT and ALSEEYA after travelling a short distance.

MADLUCE MISSILE – Hampered soon after the start by GOOD CATCH, which shifted out. Had to be steadied passing the 600m when tightened for room between SCHWARZY and THE OVERDRAFT, which shifted in slightly.

Race 3: TRACKSIDE OPEN AIR CINEMA QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1110M

I’M A RIPPA – Checked at the start when tightened for room between PUBLISHING POWER and HEART OF AUSTRALIA.

PRIMAL TOUCH – Slow to begin.

ROBBERS COBBER – Checked soon after the start when tightened for room between PUBLISHING POWER, which shifted in slightly, and DONOT SAY ANYTHING, which shifted out. Raced ungenerously when being restrained in the early stages.

CARAMEL SNOW – Raced wide throughout.

SHUDA KNOWN BETTER – Raced three wide without cover.

Race 4: SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL CLASS 5 H’CAP – 1350M

LUCKY LUCRE – Bumped near the 250m.

STEAKANDBEARNAISE – Shifted out near the 250m and bumped LUCKY LUCRE.

BAYVIEW EMPEROR – T. Harrison was of the opinion that her mount did not appreciate today’s firm surface.

ACTION BUTTON – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages, which prevented apprentice J. Orman from riding the mare out in his normal manner.

DUTCH TREAT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

BEAUMARIS – Slow to begin.

Race 5: VEUVE SOCIETY CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1650M

RISING LUCK – Overraced in the early stages, which resulted in the saddle slipping forward, which placed rider R. Johnston-Bell at a disadvantage for a major part of the race.

TOPENDING – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn and in the home straight until near the 150m.

ROCK SPARK – Overraced in the early stages and as a result was allowed to stride forward to assume the lead near the 800m.

KINGTANTES – Raced three wide throughout.

AVROSON – Had to alter course to the inside of MARLENE ADELE in order to improve near the 250m.

Race 6: SPRING RACING CARNIVAL F&M CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1110M

SUITE MOVER – Trainer T. Gollan advised that from the wide barrier it would be the intention to have the mare ridden back in the field if circumstances permit. After being slow to begin, the horse settled in a rearward position.

FLEUR D’ORAGE – Inconvenienced at the start.

PANCH KALYAN – Slow to begin.

ZERO TOLERANCE – Inconvenienced at the start.

HOLLYWOOD MISTRESS – Slow to begin.

Race 7: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB C,G&E CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1110M

COMIC STORY – Blundered badly at the start and lost ground.

DYLAN’S LUCK – Apprentice R. Williams pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that over the final 150m, she attempted to improve to the inside of TACTICIAN where in the opinion of stewards there was insufficient room to do so and as a result her mount became awkwardly placed at the heels of that runner and had to be restrained. Apprentice Williams’ licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 20 August and expire at midnight on Monday 29 August 2016.

OINK – Slow to begin.

Race 8: COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1350M

TAMARIZ – Kicked out in barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.

IRISH BANDIT – Overraced in the early stages. The veterinary surgeon reported that the gelding had pulled up lame in the near foreleg. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to race again. Lost the off hind plate in running.

OLSSON – Had to alter course to the inside of FLINDERS DEAGON near the 300m in order to improve.

CHOOSE THE MOMENT – Raced three wide without cover.

CEDA MISS – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Connections were advised that the horse must obtain a further barrier certificate before starting again.

LAKOTA SIOUX – Overraced in the early stages.
