THE CONSPIRATOR – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn.

DON’T TEASE ME – Raced 3 wide without cover.

Race 2: Bartercard Country Cup Special Conditions H'cap – 1200m

HEROIC ACTION – Jumped very awkwardly and lost significant ground. Had to be eased to avoid the heels of MISHANI GLADIATOR. Jockey B. Stewart, rider of MISHANI GLADIATOR, was reprimanded and advised to provide greater clearance to his fellow riders in future.

MISHANI GLADIATOR – When asked to comment on the performance of the gelding, jockey B. Stewart stated that he settled further back in the field than anticipated, however the horse’s performance was disappointing today.

BIZARRE ROCK – Raced in restricted room for some distance passing the 500m between MISHANI GLADIATOR and BELLE EXPRESS.

Race 3: Integrapay Open H'cap – 2200m

Stewards opened an inquiry into the riding tactics adopted by apprentice B. Grylls, rider of RANKED, and apprentice J. Oliver, rider of BLACK JAG, where both runners set a fast tempo when challenging for the lead in the middle stages. Stewards took evidence from both apprentices and trainer Mr J. Wallace (RANKED) and trainer Mr T. Whittington (BLACK JAG). The inquiry was adjourned to allow stewards to consider the sectional times at the relevant stage of the race and to allow the masters of both apprentices to be present.

CRAMMING – Jockey B. Stewart advised that the gelding did not appreciate the soft track conditions today.

BLACK JAG – A post race veterinary examination revealed slight soreness to the near fore fetlock.

RANKED – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from thumps, and had a slow post race recovery.
