GENERAL
 
As P. Hammersley was overweight in Race 4 (POMME LA BELLE) and Race 6 (IDLE SITUATION) stewards permitted rider changes as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Jockey Hammersley was subsequently fined $300.
 
 
Race 1: Stav, Abby And Matt QTIS 2YO Handicap – 1200m
 
KEIRABELLA – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
SUGAR SIZZLE – Shifted out and bumped another runner on jumping. Inclined to overrace in the early stages.
 
GRIM REAPER – Bumped shortly after the start, shifted out abruptly making heavy contact with another runner.
 
ROCK N SOL – Bumped heavily shortly after the start and taken wider.
 
Jockey B. Stewart (GRIM REAPER) was fined $200 for striking his mount 9 times prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 2: Ray Garske Memorial Class 3 Plate – 1630m
 
ALCAZAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
LOCUS – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner.
 
SILOM ROAD – Bumped on jumping. Near the 600m tightened for room.
 
DONT DOUBT DA WIFE – Near the 1200m was brushed by another runner. Steadied off heels after leaving the 900m when the pace steadied. Bumped on 2 occasions near the 500m resulting in the mare becoming unbalanced.
 
PROLIFIC BELLE – Near the 800m had to be steadied off heels. Near the 600m tightened for room. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare had sustained a puncture wound to the outside of the off fore leg.
 
CHAMALU – Approaching the home turn shifted out to improve making heavy contact with another runner. Then held up until near the 300m before obtaining clear running.
 
MONASTERIO – At the entrance to the straight shifted out and brushed another runner. Shifted in over the concluding stages under riding.
 
DUKE OF CHRISTOPHE – Checked near the 600m. Steadied off heels approaching the winning post.
 
ISLA TRISTANA – After leaving 600m shifted in despite the efforts of its rider tightening runners to its inside. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
Jockey M. Cahill (MONASTERIO) was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the winning post when not fully clear to runners to his inside.
 
Jockey M. McGillivray (CHAMALU) was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the 1200m taking DONT DOUBT DA WIFE in towards the rail.
 
Jockey M. McGillivray (CHAMALU) was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out and make contact with another runner near the 500m, which resulted in his mount becoming unbalanced.
 
 
Race 3: QUPEX Ratings Band 0-70 Handicap – 1350m
 
QABLA was declared a late scratching at 7.50 a.m. Trainer E. Singh will be interviewed regarding his failure to scratch QABLA by the required time.
 
AQUA VITE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ANOTHER SLIPPER – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SCRABBLE – Slow to begin.
 
ROCK MYLADY – Approaching the 800m had to be restrained away from heels.
 
SOUTHERN FLIGHT – At the 800m jockey R. Spokes allowed his mount to shift in when not fully clear of runners to his inside. Jockey Spokes was reprimanded for this incident. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
GOULDIAN – Near the 300m had to be steadied when briefly tightened for room.
 
RED SCARLET – After the finishing line improved between runners resulting in tightening to TWO SHOES.
 
 
Race 4: Carlton Mid QTIS 3YO Handicap – 1350m
 
ZOFONIC DANCER – Near the 1000m when pulling hard and had to be restrained from heels.
 
MAGNUFIGHTER – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
MISS MIAO – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BOOM BOOM EPIC – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 5: Winning Edge Presentations Benchmark 90 Handicap – 1050m
 
Stewards considered an objection lodged by App B. Stower the rider of the 4th placegetter HIGH COST against KHALAMA (J. Byrne) being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference from the 100m to the winning post. It was subsequently established that the near 100m KHALAMA shifted in and brushed HIGH COST. In this incident HIGH COST was carried in marginally and App Stower was impeded with the use of her whip when KHALAMA raced close to her outside. After considering all matters stewards dismissed the objection and were not of the opinion that these matters were significant enough to reverse the placings.
 
TISANI TOMSO - Trainer K. Kemp advised the horse would be ridden back from the wide barrier today. The horse was ridden accordingly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 100m.
 
SHES MISS DEVINE – Reared as the gates opened and lost considerable ground.
 
TRUBIA – Slow to begin. Held up approaching the 300m. Then held up for clear running until leaving the 200m. Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
COLINELLE – Shifted in on jumping away and made contact with another runner.
 
BULLPIT – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
AIMALAC MILLIE – Approaching the 800m had to be steadied off heels.
 
HIGH COST – Steadied near the 800m.
 
WICKED INTENT – App M. Murphy was severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in near the 800m when not fully clear. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
TYCOON ACE – Raced wide throughout.
 
KHALAMA – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 6: G.H. Mumm Benchmark 80 Handicap – 2200m
 
TONI MAY – Slow to begin.
 
THREE POINTS – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding his riding in the straight jockey J. Lloyd stated he had made a long sustained run from the back of the field from the 800m and was forced wide on the home turn and bumped by another runner. He added he was of the belief that the geldings run had ended inside the 200m and as it was making an abnormal breathing noise he did not persist in riding it out over the final stages.
 
WHATS THAT – After travelling a short distance was hampered when tightened for room.
 
ROYAL ATOM – When the pace steadied near the 1400m was ridden forward to a position outside the leader near the 900m.
 
THE RUMOUR FILE – Steadied off heels near the 800m. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
PUNKENSTEIN – Inconvenienced near the 250m.
 
IDLE SITUATION – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
App M. Murphy (ELEGIES) was fined $200 for returning to scale 1 kilo overweight.
 
KIRINI – Stewards questioned Mr P Shailer the representative for trainer C. Waller regarding the tactics adopted by jockey M. Cahill. Mr Shailer stated the instructions were similar to the previous start at Doomben to race midfield and that jockey Cahill had reported to him today that he was more forward than he had anticipated.
 
Race 7: UBET Classic Fillies & Mares Plate (Listed) – 1200m
 
CONNIVING – Slow to begin. Brushed near the 600m when racing in restricted room.
 
MYSTIC OPAL – Shifted in on jumping and made contact with another runner. Raced wide throughout.
 
INSPIRED ESTELLE – Bumped on jumping. Brushed near the 600m when racing in restricted room.
 
OF THE DAY – Shifted in on jumping and bumped another runner.
 
SYLPHEED – Bumped on jumping.
 
RHYMING – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
MADAME LILY – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
DENMAGIC – Raced wide throughout.
 
Jockey B. Stewart (NOTONYOURLIFE) was fined $400 for striking his mount 9 times prior to the 100m.
 
OUR BEEBEE – Jockey J. Byrne reported at scale that his mount laid in throughout the race and near the 800m tightened the running of RARE OCCURRENCE.
 
Mr T. Gollan the trainer of NOTONYOURLIFE was advised that under the provisions of AR64E(2) it was his obligation to advise stewards in writing when a mare in his care is pregnant and racing.
 
Race 8: Sky Racing Tattersalls Recognition Stakes (Listed) – 1350m
 
CANTBUYBETTER – Blundered on jumping and then shifted out hampering runners to its outside. Raced wide throughout.
 
GOLD SYMPHONY – Jumped awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding, which finished near the rear of the field, revealed it to be sore over the rump and sore in the near fore fetlock. Trainer P. Snowden was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced prior to the gelding racing again.
 
FRESPANOL – Bumped on jumping.
 
BRAZEN MOSS – Hampered on jumping.
 
SOMEDAY – Hampered on jumping. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a shuffly action in front.
 
SIR MOMENTS – Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
WITH A PROMISE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
HOPFGARTEN – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 9: Hutchinson Builders Benchmark 75 Handicap – 1200m
 
RECKLESS ABANDON – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DRUMBEATS CHOICE – Slow to begin.
 
BAUHINIA SID – Pulled hard in the middle stages.
 
RINGOS A ROCKSTAR – Held up near the 400m. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
