As S. Galloway was indisposed and L. Cassidy was not riding due to injury, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.  
 
Race 1: HAMILTON HOTEL BENCHMARK 90 H'CAP – 2200M
 
ANTON EN AVANT – Taken inwards over the concluding stages.
 
THE RUMOUR FILE – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages and was straightened approaching the winning post.
 
HUNDRED – Permission was granted for apprentice T. Brooker to claim only 1kg of her allowance. Jumped awkwardly.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to SOFT 5 retrospective to Race 1.
 
Race 2: STANLEY RIVER THOROUGHBREDS RATINGS BAND 0 – 70 H'CAP – 1050M
 
I’VE GOTTA NEL – Tightened for room near the 900m when a runner to the outside shifted in.
 
OL’ BROWN EYES – Had to steady away from the heels of STAR JUSTICE near the 300m when that runner shifted out when not fully clear. J. Orman, the rider of STAR JUSTICE, was reprimanded.
 
STELLARCRAFT – Bumped by a runner to the inside near the 600m.
 
VICEMAN – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
GRACEVILLE – Shifted in near the 900m when not fully clear of I’VE GOTTA NEL. L. Tarrant was reprimanded.
 
OH BOY – Trainer B. Baldwin was fined $100 for presenting the horse to race without earmuffs, which was part of the horse’s declared gear. Restless in the barriers. Slow to begin. Apprentice Z. White reported at scale that she endeavoured to comply with her instructions and take up a  forward position but she was unable to cross I’VE GOTTA NEL in the early stages and was obliged to race three wide throughout.
 
STAR JUSTICE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
SANDRELLI – Slow to begin. Shifted out near the 600m and made contact with a runner to the outside.
 
Race 3: TWILIGHT RACES 8TH DECEMBER 2017 SIZZLING PLATE 2YO – 1050M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow trainer J. Zielke and L. Dittman (MIRACLES APLENTY) to view the stewards’ patrol footage of the start.
 
FORZA – Jumped awkwardly. Hampered near the 900m.
 
OSBECK – Restless in the barriers, jumped awkwardly and lost ground and then shifted in abruptly.
 
PARKO – Raced greenly in the middle stages. Ran wide making the home turn.
 
REPATRIATE – Raced wide without cover.
 
MIRACLES APLENTY – Restless in the barriers, slow to begin.
 
ARDOYNE ROAD – Slow to begin. The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse was suffering heat stress post-race.
 
DRAGON INTHE NORTH – Raced wide throughout.
 
KATY’S DAUGHTER – Jumped awkwardly. Steadied away from heels near the 900m. Raced wide throughout.
 
VERANES – Shifted out abruptly near the 900m to avoid heels. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
PHOENIX SHADOW – Slow to begin. Commenced to overrace near the 900m and had to be checked off heels, shifted out and hampered another runner, then continued to overrace for some distance after leaving the 900m. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the colt was suffering from heat stress.
 
Race 4: SEQ ICE CREAM BENCHMARK 85 H'CAP – 1200M
 
IN HIS STRIDE – Laid in under pressure in the straight. B. Stewart was fined $200 for using the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
BULLPIT – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner.
 
HEARTBREAK HARRY – Bumped on jumping.
 
BOOMWAA – Trainer B. Currie was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card. Pulled hard in the early stages, was unable to be restrained and was briefly tightened for room after leaving the 800m.
 
COUNTER MEAL – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short-striding in front. Stewards intend to follow up with trainer P. Butterworth in coming days regarding the horse’s post-race recovery.
 
COURTZA KING – Slow to begin. Shifted out around a tiring runner after leaving the 400m and made contact with RINGO’S A ROCKSTAR.
 
RINGO’S A ROCKSTAR – Raced wide without cover. Bumped after leaving the 400m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was further upgraded to GOOD 4.
 
Race 5: BOBBY CLARKE MODE PLATE – 1200M
 
DREAM KISSES – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. Clipped heels and blundered near the 950m.
 
COOROI CHASE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CABIN FEVER – Eased and steadied away from heels near the 900m.
 
INITIALIZE – Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
SOLO MELODY – Raced wide without cover. The nearside winker became loose during the event.
 
TEAGZ – Bumped on jumping.
 
BIMINI ROAD – Restless in the barriers and struck its head. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. On return to scale the filly was bleeding from the poll. Taken out towards the heels of another runner approaching the 300m.
 
Race 6: BECOME A BRC MEMBER CLASS 6 H'CAP – 1600M
 
HEART OF A WARRIOR – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
RICHARD OF YORKE – Tightened for room near the 1400m.
 
THE AMATEUR – Shifted in near the 1400m and then when attempting to relieve tightening to runners to the inside was prevented from doing so by AQUA VITE on the outside. Checked away from heels at the entrance to the straight when tiring. C. Brown advised that his mount was under pressure after leaving the 800m and never travelled well. Trainer T. Edmonds advised that it may be the intention to spell the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
BRACTEATE – Tightened for room near the 1400m.
 
PRIVATE HERO – Steadied away from heels near the 600m and again approaching the home turn.
 
REVALDOR – Raced fiercely in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be coughing following the event.
 
AMERICAN DIVA – Trainer J. Smerdon was fined $100 for the late declaration of apprentice A. Sewell as rider. Steadied away from heels approaching the 100m.
 
EIGHT BELOW – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 1300m.
 
MISHANI PHOENIX – Had to be checked near the 1400m when tightened for room by runners to the outside.
 
VOLTAIRE LUMIERE – Raced wide in the early stages and allowed to stride forward and position outside the leader near the 1000m.
 
AQUA VITE – When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted after leaving the 800m, apprentice M. Murphy stated that when following THE AMATEUR he elected to shift outside that runner as he was of the belief that THE AMATEUR was making a respiratory noise and he did not wish to be held up behind it at that stage of the race. He added that his mount appreciates clear running over the final 600m.
 
Race 7: ACCESS INSULATION WINNING RUPERT PLATE – 1200M
 
CAPITAL GAIN – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Had to alter course near the 100m to obtain clear running.
 
MISHANI BULLITT – Knuckled on jumping. Raced wide without cover.
 
SAINT PATRICKS DAY – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
 
DAZZLING RED – Shifted in abruptly on jumping and made contact with another runner.
 
PIERATA – Due to difficulties logging onto Racing Australia’s gear requests, trainer G. Hickman was granted permission to remove the blinkers from the horse’s gear on Thursday morning.
 
LOOKS LIKE ELVIS – Bumped on jumping.
 
Race 8: SUA GEORGE MOORE STAKES – 1200M
 
MOST IMPORTANT – Overraced in the early stages when being steadied.
 
SIEGFRIED – Commenced to pull hard and had to be restrained off heels when the pace steadied after leaving the 900m. Disappointed for a run approaching the 300m and then had to alter course to the inside to obtain clear running.
 
SNOOPY – Held up from the entrance to the straight until approaching the 200m.
 
HIGH I’M BACK – Trainer T. Gollan was fined $100 for the late declaration of C. Brown as rider. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
 
BROOKLYN STORM – Commenced to pull hard and had to be restrained off heels when the pace steadied after leaving the 900m. Again had to be restrained off heels approaching the 400m. Raced in restricted room approaching the 200m.
 
Race 9: ASCOT GREEN CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
 
DOWNLOADING – Raced wide throughout.
 
JUST ORM – Trainer T. Gollan was fined $100 for the late declaration of C. Brown as rider. Raced wide without cover.
 
VALFIERNO – D. Browne reported at scale that his mount hung out throughout.
 
BELOSO – Jumped awkwardly.
 
NATURAL BLACK – Raced wide throughout.
 
SALMANAZAR – Bumped shortly after the start. Had to be steadied away from heels near the 300m.
 
KUBIS – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer R. Heathcote’s stable representative as to the reason for failing to declare J. Orman as rider by the prescribed time. Jumped awkwardly, almost dislodging its rider. Raced wide throughout.
 
OUR JAMAICA – Had to be steadied and alter course near the 100m when tightened for room.
 
BOILING – Disappointed for a run between JUST ORM and VALFIERNO near the 300m and had to be restrained and then shifted out. In this incident SALMANAZAR had to be steadied away from heels.
