Race 1: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 75 Handicap - 1200 metres
 
CLOCKWISE – Began awkwardly.
 
NO DOUBT ACRACKER – Slow to begin.
 
GOLDEN MEAN – Raced keenly in the early stages, near the 800 metres steadied to avoid the heels of KITTY DAMOUR (A Thompson(a)) which shifted in when not clear. After been crossed near the 800m got its head up for a short distance. Apprentice A Thompson (KITTY DAMOUR) was advised to exercise far greater care in similar circumstances.
 
SINGLE AGAIN – Slow to Begin. Held up in the early part of the home straight. In the home straight laid in.
 
 
Race 2: BRC - LIKE NOWHERE ELSE IN BRISBANE QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap - 1600 metres
 
DOCTOR COSTELLO – Over raced in the early stages.
 
AMORE PRIMUS – Steadied away from the heels of IMALI near the 1400m. Jockey Andrew Spinks was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted. Lost a off hind plate.
 
MISS CABARET – Slow to begin.
 
PETUNIA – Carried wider approaching the 1300m when TRUST IN ALOHA laid out, before being permitted to stride forward and take a position outside the leader near the 800m.
 
IMALI – Over raced in the early stages when being restrained, continued to over race in the middle stages.
 
LATIN PROPHET  - Hung out from the 600m and bumped with TRUST IN ALOHA near the 500m, continued to hang out for the remainder of the event. Trainer C Munce was advised the colt must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again due to its racing manners. Trainer C Munce advised that the colt will now be spelled.
 
TRUST IN ALOHA – Bumped and carried wider near the 500m.
 
 
Race 3: MOUNT FRANKLIN Class 3 Plate - 1350 metres
 
IMPAVIDO – Slow to begin.
 
METAMORPHIC – Steadied near the 1000m when MONTEZ shifted in and away from LUNAR LIGHT.
 
DON'T STOP – Over raced in the early stages.
 
MADDI ROCKS – Near the 500m, shifted out to improve and made contact with LADY BRAHMOS on a several occasions.
 
LADY BRAHMOS – Bumped on several occasions near the 500m with MADDI ROCKS. Blundered near the 300m. Apprentice J Huxtable reported that after blundering his mount did not feel comfortable in its action. A post race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the inside right cheek.
 
 
Race 4: XXXX DRY One Metro Win Handicap - 1350 metres
 
LAST CHANCE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped on the hind quarter approaching the 400m.
 
SEE ME EXCEED – Performed below market expectations, Jockey D Smith could offer no explanation.
 
TYCOON STREET – Steadied near the 700m when placed close to the heels of RUN FOR GLORY. Approaching the 400m was momentarily tightened between SEE ME EXCEED which shifted out to improve and LAST CHANCE.
 
 
Race 5: CASCADE Class 6 Handicap - 1600 metres
 
RIGHT OR WRONG – Raced wide without cover, before being permitted to stride forward and take up a position outside the lead passing the 900m.
 
RECKLESS CHOICE – Hung in from the 800m.
 
ALPINE DANCER – Lost a off hind plate.
 
NAPOLEON SOLO – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
TOAN THANG – Bumped at start with STRIKE SIKA
 
STRIKE SIKA – Bumped at start.
 
 
Race 6: MILLERS SWIM SCHOOL Fillies & Mares Quality Handicap - 1200 metres
 
STAR REFLECTION – Laid in near the 300m.
 
JARDIN ROUGE – Bounded at the start and lost ground. Approaching the 150m after being bumped and carried in by SPIRIT’S CHOICE was then disappointed for a run when between SPIRIT’S CHOICE and STAR REFLECTION which was carried out by EPIC GIRL.
 
EPIC GIRL - Began awkwardly shifting out bumping with MALAHIDE. Carried in near the 300m.
 
SPIRIT'S CHOICE – Bumped at start. Over raced in the early stages. Laid in approaching the 150m and bump with JARDIN ROUGE.
 
MALAHIDE – Bumped at start. Performed below market expectations, Jockey M McGillivray stated in his opinion the mare which was returning from a lengthy spell would derive benefit from todays run. A post-race swab sample was taken for analysis.
 
 
Race 7: THE VILLAGE KITCHEN ASCOT BENCHMARK 72 Handicap - 1600 metres
 
SKYTREK – Failed to muster early speed. Over raced in the early and middle stages, near the 1000m when over racing was steadied when placed close to the heels of WOWSERS.
 
SUPERBOWL SUNDAY – Near the 800m, raced in restricted room to the inside of OKANAGAN MISS which was carried in by GETYOURGREYON.
 
REIBY THE RED – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
DOWNLOADING – Near the 600m was crowded and bumped with WOWSERS which shifted in. Eased down over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in both fore fetlocks and lame in the off fore. Trainer R Heathcote was notified the he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to racing again.
 
GETYOURGREYON – Over raced in the early stage. Raced wide without cover until being permitted to stride forward approaching the 800m.
 
OKANAGAN MISS – Began Awkwardly.
 
PROSPECTUS – Became fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and passed suitable to start.
 
WOWSERS – Over raced in the early stages. Near the 600m shifted out and bumped with REIBY THE RED, before shifting in and bumping DOWNLOADING. Jockey R Wiggins was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
 
Race 8: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap - 1050 metres
 
SPIRIT ONE – Fractious post race. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SHOOTING FOR GOLD – Raced wide with cover, approaching the 600m was bumped by STRIKE which shifted out when over racing. Held up rounding the home turn before shifting out to gain clear running. Tactics queried, settle further back. Apprentice J Huxtable stated that from the wide barrier he was instructed to be positive from the start, however after beginning only fairly and with good speed to his inside he elected to restrain to gain cover.
 
BETTER THAN BEST – Over raced in the early and middle stages, near the 800m steadied when racing close to heels.
 
MISHANI APPEAL – Late scratching at 10.08am acting on veterinary advice after the filly was found to be lame in the off fore. Trainer M Currie was advised he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to race again.
 
POUPEE – Raced wide without cover. Hung out rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
 
SWEET RHAPSODY – Began Awkwardly. Raced wide with cover. Near the 700m, steadied away from the heels of BEST TO HURRY.
 
STRIKE – Bounded at the start and lost ground. Pulled hard in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 600m shifted out and bumped SHOOTING FOR GOLD.
 
 
Race 9: BRC SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 75 Handicap - 1200 metres
 
SNOWZONE – Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
DENARIUS – Raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear to gain cover. Hung out from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
HI FIVER – Slow to begin.
 
ROYAL HALE – Bucked after the start. Trainer T Gollan was advised that the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.
 
SECRET SPIRIT – Jockey L Tarrant reported the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action. A post race veterinary revealed no abnormalities.
 
STARVIRGO – Raced wide without cover.
 
FANAAR – Slow to begin. Over raced and got its head up in the early and middle stages.
 
FORT WAYNE – Slow to begin.
