SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Race 6 Sunshine Coast 5/12/21: Trainer Matt Boland was fined $500 pursuant to LR68 in that he did not scratch PLATINUM DEAL within the prescribed time.
 
 
GENERAL
 
As Cory Bayliss was indisposed, he was replaced as per the stewards summary.
 
Race 1: DIRECT INSURANCE BROKERS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
MAJESTIC COLOUR – Over-raced approaching the 800m, shifted wider on the track and raced wide from that point onwards. Shifted in near the 300m and bumped with YOURALLTHAT.
 
IRING – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
YOURALLTHAT – Bumped on the hindquarters near the 300m. B Nothdurft reported that his mount became fractious during the preliminary and in his opinion, this had a detrimental effect on the horses overall performance.
 
AFRICAN STORM – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
WINDOM – Raced wide throughout.
 
CLAUDIUS – Stood flat-footed and lost significant ground.
 
 
Race 2: MAGIC MILLIONS POLO 9 JANUARY BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 2040 metres
 
Following the running of Race 1 the track was upgraded to Heavy 9
 
SPECTROSCOPE (USA) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CONTINUATION – Blundered badly on jumping away and lost ground. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SHEBRINGZIT – B Thompson reported that his mount did not quicken when asked to respond in the rain effected conditions.
 
SPACE IS DEEP (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: NUTURF Class 2 Handicap 1640 metres
 
ENDLESS MYSTERY – Slow to begin.
 
ABRACADAZZLE – Laid in during the early part of the home straight.
 
TOP GLAMOUR – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: ASCOT GREEN Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
Following the running of Race 3 the track was upgraded to Heavy 8
 
BIXILON – Steadied shortly after the start.
 
CRITICAL THINKER – Over-raced when obliged to race in restricted room near the 1200m and again near the 1000m.
 
MAPLE DOOR – Slow to begin. Difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m.
 
VIRTUOSITY – Steadied shortly after the start.
 
PUSHKIN – Difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Race 5: ROKU GIN BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1350 metres
 
The start of event was delayed when CHEVYCHASER refused to load and was declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 4:45pm. On the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on CHEVYCHASER be refunded and the following deductions to apply on all bets:
 
1st SWANSTON      6c the win and 9c the place
2nd GAVE US UP     5c the place
3rd PLUTOCRAT     5c the place
 
Trainer B Smith was advised that he will be required to obtain 2 further barrier certificates prior to CHEVYCHASER racing again.
 
SOKUDO – Slow to begin. Laid out in the home straight.
 
SCICONIC – Held up when rounding the home turn.
 
PLUTOCRAT – Tightened for room near the 900m when racing to the inside of GAVE US UP, which hung in despite the effort of its rider.
 
RENOUF – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
TICKLER – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn and again when passing the 200m.
 
Race 6: TAB BRISBANE Handicap 1640 metres
 
LIGULATE – Post race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
WILLO TITTO – Raced wide throughout.
 
CHARMMEBABY (NZ) – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
INDISPENSABLE – B Thompson reported that, in his opinion, his mount failed to back up from its most recent start.
 
Race 7: LYNDON KEANE MEDIA Class 4 Handicap 1200 metres
