Race 1: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1630 metres
 
WARP SPEED – Inconvenienced on jumping by MAGIC CONQUEROR. Pulled hard in the early stages.
 
GROUP THINK – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after mucous was found in its near side nostril and passed to start.
 
MAGIC CONQUEROR – Blundered badly on jumping, and shifted outwards inconveniencing ABRACADAZZLE and WARP SPEED.  
 
TEXAS STORM – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
ABRACADAZZLE – Inconvenienced on jumping by MAGIC CONQUEROR.  
Inclined to lay inwards in the early stages of the home straight and had difficulty in obtaining  clear running until the final 100m.
 
LUNASNIT – Held up for clear running early part of straight.
 
Race 2: CASCADE BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1630 metres
 
BERING SEA – Began awkwardly.
 
TAMILAIDE – Slow to begin.
 
INDIAN DREAMER – Slow to begin. Had difficulty in obtaining clear running approaching the 200m.
 
TESARC – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
ALATAR – Laid inwards in the straight. Rider T. Marshall dropped his near side rein passing the 200m which he regained shortly thereafter.
 
AUSBRED COOEE – Near the 700m had to be eased when awkwardly placed between TAMILAIDE and RIVER ROCKET. L. Cassidy was fined $300 for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m (AR132(7)(a)(ii)).
 
RIVER ROCKET – Carried wider when ALATAR shifted out to improve.
 
 
Race 3: GIRLS DAY OUT 12 MARCH Class 6 Handicap 2030 metres
 
HAKY (IRE) – Connections advised they will try and ride the horse in a more forward position today. HAKY (IRE) settled in a rearward position after being crowded on jumping.
 
SEAT OF POWER (IRE) – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MONACO DELUXE – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
Following the running of this race, the track was downgraded to a soft (5).
 
 
Race 4: STRADBROKE SEASON ON SALE NOW Colts, Geldings & Entires No Metro Win H 1350 metres
 
CRACKER ESSGEE – Raced three wide with cover.
 
CAFFREY (IRE) – Jumped away awkwardly. Pulled hard in the middle stages. Raced three wide with cover.
 
KNIGHT MARINER (NZ) – Held up for clear running from the 500m until shortly after passing the 200m.

GAVE US UP – Held up between the 300m and the 200m.
 
HARLEQUIN FIELD – Raced three wide without cover.
 
NEXT DIMENSION (NZ) – Held up and unable to improve between the 450m and the 300m.
 
THE TYLER – At the 100m, inclined to lay inwards and became momentarily unbalanced when bumped by KNIGHT MARINER (NZ).
 
Race 5: 427 QTIS YEARLINGS @ MM MARCH SALE Fillies & Mares No Metro Wins Handicap 1350 metres
 
RED BLOOM – Raced three wide without cover.
 
LET’S GO BOBBY – A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
PURRONI – Raced three wide with cover.
 
VINASTA – Slow to begin.
 
JUBAI PRIDE – Slow into stride after jumping away awkwardly.  
 
I PROMISE YOU – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
 
Race 6: SKY RACING Class 3 Handicap 1110 metres
 
FREDERICK THE DANE – Following a request from co-trainer Toby Edmonds FREDERICK THE DANE was declared a late scratching at 2.12pm due to the track downgrade.
 
LUCICELLO – Jockey J. Byrne commented that the mare didn’t handle today’s track conditions and connections indicated they may experiment with the addition of a tongue tie to the mare’s gear.
 
ZINGALONG – At the 400m, steadied off the heels of BOOMNOVA, which shifted in. Raced three wide from the 600m without cover. Jockey B. Thornton, rider of BOOMNOVA, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in the future.
 
ONE SHY RUBY – Had to be eased when racing in restricted room passing the 200m, between ZINGALONG laying in and BEFANA, which shifted out.
 
FAMOUS – Had to be taken inwards shortly after passing the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
INVICTUS FELIX – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
TORUN – Slow to begin.
 
AZZAREACH – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
 
Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres
 
LOVEMETENDER – Following a request from trainer J. Ramsey, LOVEMETENDER was declared a late scratching at 2.45pm due to the track downgrade.
 
SELF INDULGENT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
ANDY – Raced wide from the 600m.
 
YANGSEA – Shortly after the start became awkwardly placed on the heels of STAR GAMBLE which shifted in slightly.
 
STAR GAMBLE – Raced keenly for a short distance near the 800m.
 
LOGOMANIA – Near the 600m, was momentarily awkwardly placed on the heels of SELF INDULGENT. Held up in the early part of the straight. Bumped and disappointed for a run passing the 150m.
 
GENERAL WOLFFE – Lost ground when crowded and buffeted on jumping.
 
CAMPAI – Near the 900m, commenced to race keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions proving difficult to settle, and in doing so shifted outwards making contact with STAR GAMBLE on a number of occasions.
 
BETTER THAN EPIC – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration to its near hind consistent with being galloped on.  
 
Race 8: XXXX DRY OPEN Handicap 1630 metres
 
HUMBOLT CURRENT (GB) – Slow to begin.
 
CLOAK – Marshall – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages.
 
KEDAH (NZ) – A post race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off fore. A veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.
 
ZIGALLENE (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly outwards making contact with HAPPY GO PLUCKY.
 
 
Race 9: ST PATRICKS DAY FESTIVAL 19 MARCH Class 6 Plate 1200 metres
 
RUN FOR GLORY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up in the early part of the straight and again for a short distance passing the 100m.
 
FASANO – Slow into stride.
 
MONTENEGRO MAN – Raced three wide with cover.
 
TRAMONTO – Raced three wide without cover from the 800m. Passing the 200m had to be steadied off the heels of SNITZIFY, which laid out. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be making a mild respiratory noise.
