GENERAL

As N. Thomas was indisposed through injury, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

Race 1: COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY OPEN H’CAP - 2230M

As J. Morris failed to arrive on course in time to fulfil his engagement, R. Fradd was substituted as the rider of METEOROLOGIST.

BLACK JAG – J. Byrne was reprimanded for using the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.

BEST CASE – When questioned regarding the horse's disappointing performance, P. Hammersley advised that the gelding was one-paced today and did not respond when placed under pressure prior to the home turn.

METEOROLOGIST – R. Fradd was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted on the horse, particularly approaching the 1800m. Jockey Fradd stated that he had been instructed to ride the gelding off the fence, and passing the winning post on the first occasion he elected to shift out and race to the outside of COLLATERAL, however, COLLATERAL then shifted out, forcing him three wide from the 1600m, and he raced three wide thereafter. Trainer M. Wilson expressed some disappointment in jockey Fradd's ride in that after being caught wide in the early stages he would have expected him to ride forward and take up a position closer than being forced to race in a three wide position.

Race 2: CASCADE 0MW H’CAP - 1000M

AIMALAC BURRA – Inclined to lay in approaching the 600m.

MEET GEORGE JETSON – Inclined to lay out under pressure in the straight.
