RACE 1: PARENTS & FRIENDS QTIS 3YO H’CAP - 1600M

FAIRY DANCER - As G. Colless was overweight stewards permitted T. Harrison to be substituted as the rider. G. Colless was fined $200.00.

PERILOUS LOVE – Laid in under pressure in the straight. Raced wide throughout. Jockey R. Fradd was fined $200.00 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. In considering penalty stewards took into account his good recent record with regard to whip breaches.

GENERAL COS – App E. Ljung was reprimanded for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

PERSISTENT SHADOW – App S. Fawke was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.



RACE 2: TRENT HALLIDAY MEMORIAL CLASS 6 H’CAP - 1000M

ABRACADASH – Raced wide throughout. Jockey R. Fradd reported at scale that the mare raced flat today and did not finish the race off as expected. A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities.

RACE 3: HARRIET HORSFALL RHODES SCHOLAR BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP- 2200M

SPRINGBOK FLYER – After being bumped near the 2000m, shifted in tightening runners to its inside making the first turn. Jockey J. Lloyd reported at scale the gelding failed to handle the track conditions today. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities.

TOUCH OF BELLA – Making the first turn raced in restricted room when tightened by another runner. Pulled hard in the middle stages.

KINGSTON TIME - Making the first turn raced in restricted room when tightened by another runner.

KOBI CREEK – Raced wide throughout.

RACE 4: CHEMIST WAREHOUSE OPEN H’CAP - 1600M

BECKHAM – When questioned regarding the performance App M. McGillivray stated that the horse travelled well in the early and middle stages of the race and in his opinion did not appreciate the step up in distance today and starting on consecutive Saturdays.

RACE 5: MIRVAC ASCOT GREEN BENCHMARK 80 H’CAP - 1400M

Trainer K. Hickmott was fined $100.00 for the late declaration of App A. Denby as rider of WAR BABY

UMGENI – Slow to begin. Pulled hard in the early stages.

BUDGET BENDER – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey R. Wiggins was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

MONSTER OF ENERGY – Raced wide without cover throughout.

WAR BABY - App A. Denby was fined $300.00 for using her whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

RACE 6: NORTHSIDE WOMEN'S HEALTH OPEN H’CAP - 1200M

EXECUTED – Slow to begin.

KUDERO – Raced in restricted room passing the 1000m.

DREAM CHOICE – App M. McGillivray was fined $300.00 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

RACE 7: PROGRAMMED PROPERTY SERVICES OMW H’CAP - 1200M

FIRE WITHIN - App J. Oliver was fined $200.00 for failing to claim his full allowance.

SAMBUCA SHOT – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped another runner.

FIRE WITHIN – Bumped on jumping away.

LEGENDARY LUKE – Bumped on jumping away.

BUSH CAVIAR – Raced wide without cover throughout.

DANTGA – Jockey B. Looker reported that his mount did not appreciate racing inside other runners today and was very disappointing.

App T. Brooker the rider of JOHNHRO pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that approaching the first turn she allowed her mount to shift in when not fully clear of ANECDOTE, which was taken in onto LEGENDARY LUKE, which had to be checked and in turn shifted in tightening the running of FIRE WITHIN. App Brooker's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of eleven (11) days to commence midnight 28 August 2016 and expire midnight 8 September 2016. In assessing penalty stewards took into account App Brooker's good record relating to careless riding however, believed the incident was in the mid range of interference. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post race recovery.

ANECDOTE - A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from the thumps.


RACE 8: EATON SERVICES GROUP CLASS 3 PLATE - 1600M

Due to a heavy shower of rain the track was downgraded to a Soft 6 at 4.15 p.m.

KEEP ON ROCKING – Slow to begin.

LIKE A RULER – When being steadied passing the 1400m the horse got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance.

DAME VAN WINKLE – Held up in the early stages of the straight and then shifted out and bumped another runner near the 300m.

NAPAYSHINI – Bumped near the 300m.

BOUND FOR LOVE – Raced wide without cover throughout.

SAN TELMO - Raced wide without cover throughout.


Following the running of this event stewards advised the judge to amend the track rating from a Soft 6 to a Soft 7.
