As G. Colless was ill, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: DRIVER RECRUITMENT OPEN H’CAP - 2212M
 
DENONINATOR – Slow to begin.
 
IDLE SITUATION – Reared as the gates opened.
 
Race 2: AUSTRALIAN QTIS 2YO FILLIES H’CAP - 1000M
 
CRAFTY BLONDE – Jumped away awkwardly. Briefly tightened for room passing the 800m.
 
I AM VENUS – Raced wide throughout.
 
INITIALIZE – Jumped away awkwardly. Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
 
SETOKA – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 700m.
 
SKATE TO PARIS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
RUN ALL NIGHT – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied away from heels near the 600m.
 
Race 3: DPMA OPEN H’CAP - 1000M
 
CHARGE MISSILE – Jumped awkwardly.
 
PROMPT RETURN – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
 
TISANI TOMSO – Slow to begin.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3 retrospective.
 
Race 4: KARTAWAY BENCHMARK 90 H’CAP - 1600M
 
SEA RED – Rider L. Cassidy advised that he was at a loss to explain the mare's disappointing performance, however he was of the opinion that the horse is not suited racing on this track. He added that connections have advised they will try to restrict the horse's racing to the Doomben track where it has performed better. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections advised that the mare will now be spelled.
 
ASTRO AVALANCHE – Trainer B. Snelling was advised that because of the gelding's poor performance, the horse's nomination would be refused in the metropolitan area until such time as its form improves.
 
KAISER FRANZ – S. Bogenhuber accidentally dropped her whip near the 300m.
 
Race 5: NUGROW CLASS 3 PLATE - 1200M
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to afford apprentice C. Schmidt, the rider of BE THE MAGIC, and R. Wiggins, the rider of CORNROW, the opportunity to view the stewards' patrol footage of the concluding stages.
 
BE THE MAGIC – Raced wide without cover. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and made contact with another runner.
 
CONSORTING – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
MAN OF DISTINCTION – Raced wide without cover.
 
POWERFUL SAGA – Raced wide without cover.
 
ANNE BONNY – Taken in by another runner after leaving the 1000m.
 
KATELETTE – Had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 900m. Steadied after leaving the 400m when CONSORTING (L. Cassidy) shifted out when not fully clear. L. Cassidy was severely reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out at that point.
 
OCEANTES – Slow to begin.
 
SAY YOU LOVE ME – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
CORNROW – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and made contact with another runner.
 
ALL THAT IS – Had to be steadied away from heels passing the 1000m. Had to be steadied to avoid heels inside the 100m.
 
Race 6: SUPERIOR PAK QTIS 3YO H’CAP – 1200M
 
THUNDER RAIDER – Inspected by the veterinary surgeon prior to the start and passed fit to race. Severely hampered shortly after the start when tightened for room.

BITHARD – Finished at the rear of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had a slow post-race recovery rate.
 
NO ANNAMOSSITY – Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped another runner. Steadied away from heels near the 900m.
 
TVERSKY – Raced wide without cover.
 
PAR ONERI – Trainer N. McCall was fined $200 for the late declaration of S. Fawke as rider. Bumped heavily on jumping, shifted in and tightened runners to the inside.
 
Following his ride in this race, M. Cahill was stood down from his remaining engagements by the Club doctor. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 7: TOXFREE BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP - 1200M
 
WHERE'S THATDRAGON – Raced wide without cover.
 
TANSY – Bumped near the 400m by another runner shifting out.
 
DREAM OF SLIPS – Pulled hard in the middle stages.
 
THREE BEERS PLEASE – Slow to begin.
 
STELLA OMBRA – Raced wide without cover.
 
SOLDI DOMANI – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide without cover.
 
ALL MY ANGELS – As M. Cahill had been stood down by the Club doctor, stewards permitted apprentice J. Oliver to replace him as the rider of the gelding, claiming only 1kg of his allowance, when no other suitable rider was available.
 
PERFECT RAINBOW – Refused to jump and took no part in the event. Trainer B. Snelling was advised that he must obtain three (3) further barrier certificates for the horse prior to it racing again and that its nomination would be refused at TAB meetings. Mr Snelling indicated that the mare will now be spelled.
 

Race 8: SUEZ CLASS 6 H’CAP - 1400M
 
PERA PERA – Blundered on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
L'ENTRECOTE – Had to be checked when attempting to improve shortly after entering the straight. Held up and unable to improve for some distance approaching the 200m and did not obtain clear running until the 100m.
 
PRIVLAKA – Bumped at the 150m.
 
BROTHERLY SECRET – Raced wide from the 800m. Apprentice B. Grylls was questioned regarding her tactics. She stated that she had been instructed to ride the gelding with cover and due to its wide barrier the horse raced further back in the field than it has at previous starts. Trainer R. Heathcote will be questioned regarding the instructions given to apprentice Grylls.
 
BIG DECISION – Shifted in abruptly at the 150m and made heavy contact with another runner.
 
FLYING CHARGER – Bumped heavily at the 150m when BIG DECISION shifted in abruptly, then shifted in and made contact with another runner.
 
FRIENDLY DRAGON – Trainer L. Ross was questioned regarding the gelding's improved performance. Mr Ross stated that the gelding appears to race better at Eagle Farm and has won three races at the track. He added that the horse also appreciates the distance of today's event of 1400m, and noted that today he removed the blinkers, which may have assisted the horse's chances.
