GENERAL
As App. K Cowan was injured riding changes were made as per the race day summary sheet.
 
 
Race 1: RACECOURSE VILLAGE QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1300 metres
 
Hinged – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Craiglea Bandit – Bumped on jumping. Shortly after commenced to buck and shifted out abruptly, dislodging its rider. Apprentice A Thompson was examined and cleared by the club doctor. Trainer K Johnston was advised that the colt would be required to trial on two consecutive occasions prior to racing again.
 
A Thompson was examined by the doctor and cleared to take his remaining rides.
 
 
Race 2: STRADBROKE SEASON ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 90 Handicap 2406 metres
 
Humbolt Current – Prior the declaration of correct weight, Rider L Dittman viewed the patrol footage in the home straight to ascertain whether there were grounds to protest against the winner ROMAKASH (NZ). After viewing the patrol footage, rider L Dittman was satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds to lodge a protest and correct weight was declared. Rider L Dittman pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, which is one more than permitted. Rider L Dittman was fined $400.
 
Romakash (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Raqeeq (GB) – Change of tactics, to ridden forward with the intention to lead if circumstances permit: Led. Bumped on jumping.
 
Advance Warning – Laid in when place under pressure in the home straight, obliging its rider to stop and straighten on a number of occasions. Near the 150m whilst laying in, had to be steadied off the heels of Meteor Light.
 
Meteor Light – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping Raqeeq (GB). Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
Bullet Shot – Slow to begin. A post-veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short striding in the off fore.
 
 
Race 3: TAB VENUE MODE BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Leadership Spill - Laid in rounding the home turn and in the home straight.

Sweet Snitty- Bumped shortly after jumping.
 
Moscini – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
Syd's Footprints – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting a gate in the parade ring and was cleared to start.
 
Azzareach – Began awkwardly. Shortly after jumping shifted out and bumped Sweet Snitty. Raced very ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Performance queried. Rider B El-Issa could provide no explanation for the performance other than he felt that the colt was very agitated pre-race and in the preliminary which he felt was detrimental to the colt’s overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer D Bougoure advised that he will give consideration to spelling the colt.
 
 
Race 4: XXXX DRY BENCHMARK 90 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Goodonya Sonja – Passing the 1000m commenced to race keenly after being crossed by Enterprise Prince.
 
Unbiased – Slow to begin. Crowded for racing room over the concluding stages.
 
Seeingisbelieving – Obliged to race three-wide from the 1000m until the 800m. Crowded for racing room over the concluding stages.
 
Akage – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
 
Enterprise Prince –Tactics queried. App. A Thompson advised that his instructions were to go forward and settle in a position with cover. He added that after being caught wide in the early stages and unable to comply with his instructions, he elected to go forward and assume the lead. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have been galloped on the near hind and have to lost a near hind plate in running.
 
Baileys – Began awkwardly resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced.
 
 
Race 5: SKY RACING QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1805 metres
 
Delayed Launch (NZ) – Raced three wide and without cover from the 800m. Bumped passing the 600m.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short striding in front.
 
The Cullinan – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Abracadazzle – Bounded on jumping and lost ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Marla Jane (NZ) – Steadied over the concluding stages.
 
Lady Snitch – Passing the 600m bumped with Delayed Launch (NZ).
 
 
Race 6: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB One Metro Win Handicap 1200 metres
 
Only Wanna Sing – Began awkwardly. Passing the 250m had to be checked to avoid heels.
Royal Hale – Held up in the early part of the home straight.

Tesarc – Raced wide and without cover throughout. Laid out in the early and middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Bobby Axelrod – Passing the 250m was brushed and taken out by Royal Hale (R Maloney), which shifted out to obtain clear running. Only Wanna Sing, which was racing to the outside of Bobby Axelrod, was obliged to check to avoid the heels in this incident. R Maloney (Royal Hale) was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out. (AR131(a)).
 
Norm's Choice – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 7: CASCADE Class 6 Plate 1805 metres
 
Couldn't Refuse – Performance queried. Rider M Du Plessis advised that the gelding failed to respond throughout and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer D Forster advised that she willnow spell the gelding.
 
Makedon – Raced very ungenerously in the middle stages. Passing the 300m laid in obliging its rider to stop and straighten his mount.
 
Hallowed Girl – Performance queried. Rider R Fradd advised that he intended to trail Joymaker from the 800m, however when he attempted to trail that runner, he advised that the mare was unable to maintain its position. He further added that when he asked his mount for an effort from the 500m the mare failed to sprint and failed to respond from that point. A swab sample was taken for analysis.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to lame in the near fore. Trainer C Anderson was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to the mare being permitted to race again.  
 
Champagne Aunty - Raced keenly in the lead during the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 8: BRC GIRLS DAY OUT SATURDAY 20 MARCH Class 3 Plate 1400 metres
 
Golly Hutt – Raced wide and without cover throughout.
 
Kubrick – Performance queried. Rider L Dittman could provide no explanation for the disappointing performance.
 
Rebel Salute – App. S Tomlinson reported upon return to scale that something may have been amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  
 
Red Bloom – Near the 1000m had to be steadied when Rari rolled out and Racing Paradise, shifted in. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 9: MOUNT FRANKLIN QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap
1400 metres
 
Boom Ranga – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped Bold and Lucy. Approaching the 1100m, when over racing, had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of Harlequin Fields.
 
Back When – Near the 1200m had to be steadied off the heels of Zou Zou Kacanarkis.
 
Zou Zou Kacanarkis – Near the 1200m, when over racing, had to be eased off the heels of
Pucko
