RACE 1: CLASS B HDCP 1030 Metres

ROCKING CONNECTION – near 300 metres taken in and tightened by another runner.

FOR ME ARGENTINA – inconvenienced near 700 metres. Checked near 300 metres when tightened for room.

MR ROCKARD – slow to begin.

LEILA’S CALL – App N Summers was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 300metres she made insufficient effort to prevent her mount shifting resulting in ROCKING CONNECTION being tightened and taken in crowding FOR ME ARGENTINA which in turn had to be checked. The riding licence of N Summers was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 11th June up to and including midnight 20th June 2016. In determining penalty stewards took into account her recent good riding record and personal circumstances.

TEXAN QUEEN – tightened for room and lost ground shortly after the start. Rider reported at scale the mare was not suited by the fast early pace and in his opinion would be better suited to races over a longer distance.

MISTER LOOSEEL – stewards permitted rider J King to ride the gelding 1.5kgs over its allocated weight when no other rider was available. J King was fined $100. Jumped away awkwardly resulting in the left foot of rider J King making heavy contact with outside barrier partition which placed him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Following the event J King was examined by QAS staff and transported to Eidsvold hospital for further treatment. Riding replacements were made as per the race day summary report. J King was advised he would require a medical certificate before resuming riding.

INSISTENT – shifted in near 700 metres inconveniencing another runner.

LITTLE BOMBER – rider a Taylor was reprimanded for allowing mount to shift in and tighten another runner shortly after the start.

RACE 2: MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres

WYNORTYN – after being placed in the barriers broke through, was quickly restrained, and was examined by the Club Vet and passed fit to start. Slow to begin.

CIMMARON KID – rider reported at scale the gelding, which was having its first race start, raced greenly for the majority of the event.

MEDIA SAVVY – after being loaded in the barriers reared up, became cast then after breaking away from barrier staff jumped an outside rail and was eventually restrained in the stabling area. Subsequently declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 2:22pm and on declaration of correct weight all bets on MEDIA SAVVY were ordered to be refunded in full with deductions of 3 cents win and 4 cents place to apply to all winning bets. Trainer T Moloney was advised the gelding would require a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start. A post race Vet examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

MISS SATINE – slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight placing its rider at a disadvantage.

RACE 3: BENCHMARK 45 HDCP 1350 Metres

Correct weight was delayed to allow I Coombes, rider of fourth place-getter TIVERTON, to view the photo finish image for third. After doing so, correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers.

HAMMERACK – stewards questioned app C Bayliss and trainer T Dougall over the tactics adopted on the mare. After taking initial evidence stewards adjourned the matter to the Gayndah race meeting on 11 June 2016. Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field. Held up and unable to obtain clear running after rounding the hometurn. A post race Vet examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

LI’L BIT GREEDY – a post race Vet examination revealed mild heat stress.

PICK OF THE PUBS – slow to begin and then raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.

MYSTERY ANGEL – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.

RACE 4: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1350 Metres

Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow J Missen, rider of second placegetter HASHTAG YOLO, to view the video near the 300 metres. After doing so J Missen elected to take the matter no further and correct declared on the judges numbers.

CAMPANOLOGY – when questioned over below market performance rider G Geran stated his intentions were not to race as forward as he did today, however after beginning well from the good draw he elected to maintain a forward position in the early stages. He added the gelding travelled well in the run but failed to run on when placed under pressure. Trainer R Hay confirmed CAMPONOLOGY is better suited ridden further back in the field, and concurred with the comments of G Geran. Stewards accepted the explanation of both parties.

GAS BURNER – reared over in the saddling enclosure. Examined by the Club Vet on arrival at the barriers and cleared to start. Slow to begin

GENERAL KINGSMAN – raced wide throughout

FUSCUS – at scale rider reported settled at rear of field due to fast early pace, and in her opinion will appreciate races over a longer distance.
