STEWARDS REPORT EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB – SATURDAY, 8th OCTOBER, 2016 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD (3) OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Mr L CollinsStewards: Mr. G. WustClerk of Scales- StewardsJudge – G. CampbellVeterinarian – S. BlissStarter- C Matthews Race 1: Ensham Resources QTIS Maiden Plate- 1000 metres CRIMSON KIMONO- As the mare had nearly 12 months off since last racing, underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection. ROCK ON SKYE- When Jockey S Sheargold was overweight, he was replaced by App D Evans. Stewards took into account the handicap weight of 54kg and his good record in relation to weight offences, a reprimand was issued. GO GADGET GO- Inclined to lay in during the early stages of the race. Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 2: Hot FM BM50 Handicap- 1000 metres The reasons for Jockey M Haley arriving late on course were accepted. ZAHA DREAM- Declared a late scratching at 11.50am due to no available rider. IMPUESTO- Hampered when MOZZINATOR jumped out. SILENT GEE- Hampered when MAKE AMENDS jumped inwards. MAKE AMENDS- Held up in the early stages of the straight. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Jockey G Watson viewed the photo finish image for 1st. After doing so, he was satisfied as to the judge’s placings and correct weight was declared. Race 3: Emerald Jockey Club New Year’s Eve Bash BM 65 Handicap- 1200 metres PURPLE EMPEROR- When advised that the trainer had not transported the horse to the race course, Stewards it a late scratching at 11.55am. Stewards took evidence from Trainer R Little and would investigate further with Racing Australia. STIRLING GIRL- Began awkwardly. MADAM AUBERGE- As the mare had not started in over 12 months, underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection. Lost some ground when another runner jumped out. I’M ZULU- Jumped out and made heavy contact with HOFFENHARRY and lost some ground. Race 4: Qantaslink Class B Handicap- 1300 metres PARTY PIES- Turned it head when start was effect and lost ground. Correct weight was delayed when Jockey Sheargold wished to view the patrol film of the start. After doing do, did not proceed with any action and correct weight was declared. LADY STIRLING- Trainer expressed disappointment in its performance today. He stated the filly had pulled up well post-race and he may freshen the horse up. ARMANI PRINCE- Slow to begin. WONDERFUL WALLY- Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 5: Bentley’s Qld Emerald 100 Open Handicap- 1850 metres No racing incidents.
