QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT EMERALD JOCKEY CLUB SATURDAY, 16th April 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good 4 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Mr E. McLellan Race 1: MARABOON TAVERN BENCHMARK 45 Handicap (1000 metres) OUR STOMRY GIRL – Jumped away awkwardly. MADAM JANE – As Apprentice Jockey S. Nielson could only claim two-kilograms of her allowance, she was granted permission to ride the mount by stewards as no other apprentice was available. Apprentice S. Nielson was reprimanded under AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim her full allowance. Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Jumped away awkwardly. Upon returning to scale, Jockey C. McIver reported to stewards that his mount inclined to lay in throughout the event. Race 2: CENTRAL HIGHLANDS EASTER SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1000 metres) WANDER – Slow to begin. LIEUTENANT – Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. HI ZERO – Momentarily inconvenienced over the concluding stages when LIEUTENANT laid in despite the best efforts of its rider. ALL NATIVE – Trainer G. Bell was fined a sum of $100 pursuant to AR106(1) in that ALL NATIVE was presented to the mounting yard with the incorrect gear. Fractious in the barriers prior to jumping. Raced three-wide throughout the event. Race 3: ALTONA, MANITOBA QTIS Maiden Plate (1280 metres) MOMENT TO CONQUER – Overraced in the early stages. Laid out rounding the home turn. When questioned regarding today’s performance, Jockey A. Sewell stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding urges throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. NIKSICKO – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. MACSHAMUS – Upon arriving on course, Trainer J. Heelan advised stewards that MACSHAMUS had become fractious in the float while traveling to the course. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have swelling in the near-fore knee and was scratched on veterinary’s advice at 12:00pm. Trainer J. Heelan was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding’s next future race start. Race 4: SUNFLOWER QUEENS & PRINCESSES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1280 metres) KARENO – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Laid out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. MARVELOCITY – Slow into stride. HAVASHOUT – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 5: PIONEER PARK Class B Handicap (1615 metres) YUBETIDO – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. THE FRINGE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
