GENERAL

KINGMATE and ALL HARD WOOD underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as they had competed in the last 7 days and were cleared to start.
 
Race 1: ENSHAM RESOURCES Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)
 
ASTRA WALLY – Over raced in the early stages. Trainer G Bell was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race manners.
 
SOFTEN IT UP – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
THE UPRISING – Raced wide throughout.
 
BETTER OFF SINGLE – Raced keenly in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ARBAT – Took an awkward stride near the 800m. Shifted in when placed under pressure down the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: AMPCONTROL QTIS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap (1280 METRES)
 
HALLSIDE HOT STUFF – Laid out under pressure down the home straight.
 
CANDY CLOUDS – Shifted in on jumping.
 
CRAIG AND HOFF – Slow to begin. Over-raced early.
 
OLD TOWN ROAD – Raced wide throughout.
 
TAKEN BY THEFT – Fractious in barriers prior to jumping, as a result made contact with barrier partition on jumping and was slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Trainer R Williams was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
STURDY TIME – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
ADMIRAL ASH – Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
SILENT ANGEL – When questioned regarding the mare’s performance, Apprentice M Apel stated the mare commenced to over-race in the early stages and failed to travel when placed under pressure down the home straight. Apprentice M Apel also stated that in her opinion the mare would be better suited over further distances.
 
SHE’S OUR EMPRESS – Slow to begin.
 
PERSAGA – Laid in under pressure.
 
Race 3: RDO EQUIPMENT BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1615 METRES)
 
DEMURRAL – Slow to begin. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
LEICA BITA FUN – Slow to begin. Near the 100m elected to shift out to obtain clear racing room.
 
UNHINCHED – Raced wide early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 4: OUTBACK FLOORING LIGHTNING OPEN Handicap (1000 METRES)

FANAAR (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
KALASHNIKOV – Slow to begin. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 850m.
 
SPELLCATCHER – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room before electing to shift out near the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
YULONG SOVEREIGN – Fractious in barriers prior to jumping. Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 850m.
 
BEPPE – Steadied off heels near the 850m when DEFERENCE shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice Jockey N Olzard was reprimanded under AR131(a).
 
 
Race 5: COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/EMERALD FORD EMERALD 100 OPEN Handicap (1850 METRES)
 
SVINDAL – Over-raced early and commenced to lay out near the 1600m.
 
CENTAUR – Shifted out on jumping. Over-raced in the early stages. Over the concluding stages, shifted out under pressure and when corrected, shifted in momentarily inconveniencing BRETON. Jockey R Faehr was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.
 
 
BAYERISCHE – Bumped on jumping.
 
SALAZAR – Stood flat footed. Trainer C Smith was advised that the gelding will need to undergo 2 consecutive satisfactory barrier trials prior to racing again.
 
FOUR MILE LANE – Raced wide early.
 
ALL HARD WOOD – Raced wide early. Raced keenly passing the 1200m.
 
BRETON – Underwent a Veterinary examination prior to racing after becoming cast in the tie up stalls and was cleared to start. Jumped awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Held up for clear running for the entirety of the straight. Momentarily inconvenienced prior to the winning post when CENTAUR shifted in.
