Prior to declaration of correct weight stewards heard a protest of 3rd (FAVS FLYER) against 2nd place getter (ISSHEGREY) alleging interference at a point near the 600m. Stewards were of the opinion although there was a shift from ISSHEGREY causing FAVS FLYER to lose ground. After taking into consideration the manner in which both were finishing of the race as well as distance from the post in which the interference occurred the stewards could not be completely satisfied that FAVS FLYER would have finished in front of ISSHEGREY if the interference had not occurred and therefor dismissed the protest.

Stewards also heard an application from jockey W. Satherley for AWESOME MISS to be declared a non-runner. Upon hearing evidence from Mr Satherley and viewing the available replays stewards determined that the poor start and the reason for jockey Satherley losing his irons was through no other factor other than the manners of AWESOME MISS and subsequently declared AWESOME MISS a runner.

Stewards then also heard an application from apprentice A. Graham for SUPER SLICK to be declared a non-runner. After hearing evidence from Ms Graham and viewing the available replays stewards determined that upon the gates opening the barrier attendant which was in the stall had slightly slipped bumping the runner however had made no material effect in the horses ability to start. Subsequently stewards declared SUPER SLICK a runner.
