Race 1: MAIDEN PLATE 800 Metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight jockey S Lacy, rider of second placegetter HIDDEN STORM, viewed the DVD patrol film in the home straight. After doing so correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings.
 
CURLY WHIRLY KENNY – began awkwardly, then shifted out abruptly and lost ground.
 
HIDDEN STORM – brushed by PATRICK’S ME MATE which shifted in marginally near the 75 metres.
 
LOVE YA DAD – raced 3 wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
PATRICK’S ME MATE – shifted in near the 300 metres hampering COALBANK CAVALRY. Rider W O’ Connell was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Shifted in and brushed HIDDEN STORM near the 75 metres.
 
COALBANK CAVALRY – hampered near the 300 metres.
 
ROOTS’N’ROCKS – raced 3 wide with cover for majority of the event. Following the event it was noted the filly had sustained an abrasion to the off-side coronet band.


 
 
Race 2: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP:  800 Metres
 
BRIS VEGAS – slow to begin. Crowded for room and taken in near the 600 metres. Improved onto heels near the 200 metres and had to be steadied.
 
ASK AUDREY – raced wide for majority of the event.
 
DENMAN QUALITY – checked near the 600 metres and lost ground. App M Savva, rider of ASK AUDREY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 600 metres whilst riding her mount along, she made insufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in, resulting in BRIS VEGAS being taken inwards across the running of DENMAN QUALITY which was checked. The licence of M Savva was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 22nd December up to and including midnight 1st January 2020. In arriving at penalty stewards took into account M Savva’s guilty plea and also her recent riding record under this rule. 
 
INSTANTANEOUS – slow to begin.
 
COALBANK CAVIAR – raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
 
 
 
Race 3: Ratings BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1200 Metres
 
LAST ARMAGEDDON – a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer P Sexton was advised a veterinary clearance would be required before LAST ARMAGEDDON races again.
 
EVENING – slow to begin. Raced 3 wide without cover for majority of the event.
 
GRENACHE – slow to begin. Raced 4 wide without cover for majority of the event. -
 
 
Race 4: MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres
 
CARLTON STAR – Trainer R Drysdale was reprimanded to presenting the gelding to the enclosure without a tongue tie which is part of its registered gear. Jumped out at the start.
 
FORENSIC AUDITOR – bumped near the 900 metres when CHEEKY CHOPS laid in momentarily.
 
CHEEKY CHOPS – laid in momentarily near the 900 metres and bumped FORENSIC AUDITOR.
 
LOVE PUZZLE – shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
VENTURES SIGHT – stewards, after confirmation from trainer B Robinson, permitted a rider change from C Eaton to K Gates to allow C Eaton to fulfill declared riding engagements at the Toowoomba race meeting.  
 
DREAM ON LUCY – tightened between runners at the start and lost ground.
 
THE MOA FACTOR – jumped in at the start. Raced 3 wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
 
Race 5: BENCHMARK 55 HDCP 1750 Metres
 
GREY COURT – dislodged a tooth in the saddling enclosure resulting in a small amount of blood being present in the geldings mouth. GREY COURT was examined by Club Vet behind the barriers prior to being loaded and cleared to start.
 
STRYKING EMERALD – raced 3 wide without cover in the early stages of the event.
 
INKULU – slow to begin. Steadied near the 1600 metres when HELLAVA BABE shifted in when not fully clear. App J Morrow, rider of HELLAVA BABE, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
